ok, this is becoming WAY too close to reality.
“Scientists have grown an entity that closely resembles an early human embryo, without using sperm, eggs or a womb.”
If the “scientists” gets some of these things to term and creates something that is walking around, that’s when everyone will see me (or not see if they are slow) prepping the house to harden the windows and doors.
homunculi are supposed to be just a portion of a fictional story, not something that might develop a hankering to leave the lab and go for a walkabout.

I’d heard that a homunculus is a germ in human form, and I’ve often wondered about some “people” I’ve met.
