Having A Change Of Heart About Trump

Posted on 08/30/2023 9:51:57 AM PDT by redheadedshannon

I expected after the 2020 election & the multiple disappointments since, that as the primary season leading up to 2024 lingered on, I would find myself supporting somebody other than Trump. I happily voted for him in both elections & certainly loved his America First stances that should always have been part of conservative orthodoxy. Reducing immigration, favoring the Americsn worker & only supporting trade that benefits the people of this nation.

His arrival on the political stage happened at a time when the only brand of Conservatism that was allowed by elites was the big business, corporate, tax cutting type that constantly involved us in foreign wars, supported mass third world immigration for the cheap labor express and wanted an internationalist future. They were always the weakest strain that never seemed willing to fight back.

His election was thrilling & it meant the world to all of us who wanted leaders that actually stood up to leftist bullies & the media. His staffing choices were never the greatest and Lord knows he underestimated the opposition, but it was impossible not to be thankful for a Trump Presidency. How awful would a President Hillary Clinton have been? We needed him there.

The one space that I could never seem to force myself into was being an apologist that silenced any criticisms. I was never going to be the girl that was unfailingly supportive of any political figure. His biggest supporters always seemed to go overboard on making everything about loyalty to him. The argumentative stance they took seemed to shout down any questions or reservations from fellow conservatives. It still goes on & isn't productive. Criticism would help to hone his political stances & make him tougher to beat. He proved not to be amazing at helping pick candidates that would win elections.

After consistent losses for Republicans in 2020 and 2022, we were presented with a question of who should be the leader in the 2024 Presidential race. Was it time to choose a new standard bearer? Many of us were thrilled with the lopsided Florida elections that won majorities of Hispanics and other elusive groups. Governor DeSantis seemed a rising star with solid conservative stances and a bright future.

To date, DeSantis and all other candidates have proved lackluster on the national stage. Though most will probably do great in the future, they seem unprepared for the office they seek. During this time, polls of Republicans and conservatives have shown a clear favorite in Trump. So many of the others running have failed to win support because of how new and untested they are.

We have also all been watching a Democrat Party actively pursing the prosecution & conviction of Trump, his lawyers & ultimately his supporters. To say that this is a worrying sign would be an understatement of epic proportions. This sign is a warning that we are on our last legs as a nation & are about to head into Civil War #2.

During the debate, Mike Pence summed up the position of most in Washington and elites around the nation. He hearkened back to the days of Reagan and a shining city on a hill. Ramaswamys response summed up the sentiments of conservative voters: this isn't the 1980s, it's not morning in America & it's impossible to go back. Stop living in the past & deal with our current reality, which is quite dark & deteriorating constantly!

I think we are all aware of global elites & their agenda. We are fighting a worldwide, left wing, totalitarian cabal that appear to want us turned into serfs and/or eliminated completely. They want a borderless world without national loyalties, an economy designed to only benefit elites, a lack of faith in God and an unelected, appointed government & police state.

Watching criminalized opposition, seeing Soros/Zuckerberg influence, experiencing election fraud and finding out about bizarre happenings like the Hawaii fires, has coalesced to make a strong argument in Trumps favor at this important time! I will always have criticisms of people on our side because I want us to win & anything we are failing at needs to be corrected to ensure that we succeed. The stars are too high to sit around and kiss anybodys butt!

Any criticism that most conservatives have is centered around making sure we don't get involved in petty arguments, that we support whomever we want in primaries, but support all Reublicans in the general to ensure Democrats won't have power, that we stop fighting amongst ourselves & that we make election security a priority.

Trump supporters need to allow some criticism, so that he changes tacts when needed & hones his debating skills. He has to appeal to the broader electorate and win enough of a majority to prevent Democrats efforts to cheat from succeeding. They need to understand that many of us would like to see a rising star like DeSantis or Ramaswamy elevated to more important positions for the future. We have got to have leaders for an era post-Trump & we need Congressional & state Republicans to work with Trump to get things done. That cant happen if you attack any and all who express a concern. In essence, we need to be more productive and stop fighting with each other.

I dont know what the perfect answer is for us, but I think the best answer at this time is to work to get Trump reelected, work to ensure fairness in elections and stop the barrage of communist BS and woke lefty ideology from advancing. I would strongly urge any and all conservatives, even if you don't support him in the primaries, to absolutely support Trump passionately in the general election. We have to turn out in the greatest numbers they've ever seen & get all Republicans elected to as many offices as humanly possible!

And you claimed you had a change of heart.. but in reality you needed a vanity, and the only way you could get the attention you crave is to put up a fake vanity… GROW up, and stop acting like a spoiled brat!

REDHEADEDSHANNON

You opened your well-written vanity appropriately named: “Having a Change of Heart about Trump” with these three paragraphs:

1. “”””” I expected after the 2020 election & the multiple disappointments since, that as the primary season leading up to 2024 lingered on, I would find myself supporting somebody other than Trump. I happily voted for him in both elections & certainly loved his America First stances that should always have been part of conservative orthodoxy. Reducing immigration, favoring the Americsn worker & only supporting trade that benefits the people of this nation.

3. We needed him there.”””””

Now in this post you tell us that Trump was basically a bumbling, incompetant idiot.

“”””Agreed! Add these:
*We now have to leftist Democrat Senators from Georgia
because he chose not to campaign for the Republican
candidates during the special election. Enough
Republicans interpreted that as Trump saying not to
support them. Democrats won 2 seats in moderately
conservative Georgia

*Mike Pence was a disastrous choice from the start
*He spent wayyyyy too much time getting in name calling
contests & people thought it was beneath the office
*He never pushed for tighter election laws & his picks
never sued states for changing laws unilaterally
*He sent out childish & petty mouthpieces like
KellyAnne Conway to speak on his behalf
*He needed to pull congress on board for America First
agenda. He didn’t try hard at all.””””

So is your change of heart, that you dislike Trump now more than you did before? I am confused as to your position.

Yes, as all said at the start of his first campaign We are selecting a President, not hiring a pastor.

Adults will handle this and get Trump re-elected. You keep quiet and watch.

Nope. When I see the man I’m voting for doing something completely counter productive, it behooves me to say something to ensure he doesn’t repeat or lose votes. Doing stuff like that is intended to help. He needs to be grown up enough not to take it personally & supporters need to realize that he has to win over a majority of people to get elected- which means being aware of what you say. That’s it!

We get it. You’re a true believer & Trump can do no wrong. For the record, that is the thing that has been so off-putting with Trump. It’s as much about the annoyingness of his supporters.

Red, His basket of Deplorables have been with him since 2015 when he announced, got spied on by your nation, and beat a Bush and a Clinton.

And the swamp hasn’t stopped making him public enemy number one..

Or his supporters public enemy number two.

Your mileage, even after your opus, varies greatly from his supporters..

“Trump represents an existential threat to the Washington, DC industrial criminal complex.”

Yes, and another reason it has to be Trump in 2024 is the elephant in the room: they stole the 2020 election and nobody except Trump has the balls to say it out loud.

Other candidates use abstract terms like “election fairness” or “election integrity”, but only President Trump comes out and says it was stolen and calls out the traitors who stole it. People who voted for Trump in 2020 and watched that election get hijacked on live TV are furious to this day, and are not going to support any candidate too scared to acknowledge it even happened.

On top of that, they are trying to send him to prison for saying it was stolen, and there are hundreds of Jan6 protesters rotting in jail for saying it!

If Ron DeSantis or any of the other Republicans want to be taken seriously, they will have to show some outrage over this - and they are not.

All BS aside, now is the time to coalesce behind Trump. Everything else is uni-Party noise. Trump or bust. Choose wisely.

Sweetie, try paying attention. I wrote this in an attempt to say that though I have criticisms and would like some things to change, I am ,regardless, voting for Trump if he is nominee. I didn’t say that I suddenly stopped having a critique of him as a candidate. I can hold two very distinct thoughts at the same time. (1)I’m voting for him because I believe he can win & I hate liberal leftist Democrats with a passion; & (2)Trump needs to bchange some of his habits and learn from mistakes so he can win the election. I can like somebody and support them without mindlessly pretending that they’re perfect & have everything sewn up. Getting elected is like threading a needle. He isn’t going to get there without learning from mistakes 🙄

Before the 2016 election I came to believe that Trump was the one most likely to be able beat the Permanent Government. I expected he could not actually do it and he didn’t but he gave us a high prosperity peaceful hiatus on the slide to totalitarian darkness. No single candidate can take on and beat the Party but someone like Trump, were he to get a compatible House and Senate, can make room for the Normies to start to effectively take control at other levels and eliminate some of the tentacles of the Party monster. If Trump were feared by the Party as being able to kill the snake, Trump would simply not be alive right now. They are so fanatically trying to neutralize him because they do not want him to slow up the Process now that they are so close to total One Party control but they don’t think he can actually stop it. They are in a hurry but don’t yet want to kill him because that could trigger things that might hinder the Party takeover even more than a Trump presidency or endanger their own lives.

That's because the alleged Republicans are nothing more than Assistant Democrats.

The Divine Providence of God Almighty has something to say about this, and his word is the last word.

[T]ill you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses and...you come to know that Heaven rules...[T]he Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses...and He does according to His will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand or say to Him, “What have You done?”

True. The R and the D labels mean nothing. It’s who they represent - the swamp or the people.

President Trump represents the people and the swamp won’t tolerate that.
