Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation appears to be zeroing in on Sidney Powell, a conspiracy-theory-obsessed lawyer who was a key figure in Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
On Monday, Bernie Kerik — a longtime Rudy Giuliani associate and a Trump ally who worked on the Giuliani-led legal team challenging Trump’s 2020 defeat — sat with special counsel investigators for a roughly four-and-a-half-hour interview, according to his lawyer Tim Parlatore. (Parlatore previously served as a top attorney to Trump.)
“Based on the contents of their questions, and my understanding of criminal law, the main individual who was discussed who Mr. Kerik gave any information that could be incriminating would be Sidney,” Parlatore told Rolling Stone on Thursday.
Parlatore added that what Kerik told investigators included: “That there was no back-up for anything she said, that when she was asked to provide proof she didn’t produce anything, and when she was cut loose [from the official Trump legal team], how she kept trying to push her way in.”
Kerik, a former New York police commissioner, is one of the individuals who recently described to federal investigators details regarding Powell’s private behavior as she aided Trump’s attempts to subvert the 2020 election outcome. According to Parlatore, the ex-commissioner did not mince words: “During Bernie Kerik’s interview with the special counsel’s office, the issue of a possible mental health break and change in her demeanor and personality was discussed,” the attorney says.
Parlatore adds that during the investigators’ multi-hour interview with his client, the word “lunatic” was indeed used to describe Powell.
Or, as one source who’s been in the room recently with federal investigators succinctly puts it: “Sidney’s f****d.”
Asked to comment on the source’s two-word characterization, Parlatore simply replied with his own two-word statement: “I agree.”

Planted news story.
Well when Bill Barr refused to investigate OR appoint a special investigator y the president is kinda stymied.
But, as a troll, you knew that.
Sydney was shunned almost immediately after that early news conference.
Not sure where you've been Rip.
It is a fracture in the stolen election story, since so many Trump supporters still adore Sydney, and, believe that Dominion is evil and crooked and played a huge part in the election being stolen.
So it’s quite interesting that these lawyers aligned to defend Trump are ready to sacrifice that portion of the story. Maybe they think it’s given up the ghost already, but not every Trump supporter believes that.
Nor does this approach build their defense that there were many credible lawyers claiming the election was stolen. Not by calling Powell “a lunatic” in their client’s testimony.
I have personally always liked Sydney, and do believe there are some sketchy things about those Dominion machines. Doesn’t Trump still rant about that at all his rallies? But now some of his associate legal team is calling that theory lunacy?
Oh…you mean this guy?
Btw - while you’re here making money for trolling could you contribute to freerepublic to keep the lights on? K-thx

Dominion IS evil and DID, intentionally, defraud the election.
That is not in doubt.

Immediately shunned by whom? I was here and there was plenty of cheering, not much shunning.

Almost nobody has supported the German Server Kracken story since about late November, 2020.
It's now August 11, 2023.

Those links are from late November, 2020.
It's as I said.
And Rip refers to Rip Van Winkle, the guy who slept and woke up after several years.
“Those links are from late November, 2020.”
Well, yeah, it’s when she said it. Who *immediately* shunned her?
“In the months after President Donald Trump lost the November election, lawyer Sidney Powell raised large sums from donors inspired by her fight to reverse the outcome of the vote.”
“The group’s financial statement, publicly filed last month in Florida, shows the organization raised $14.9 million between Dec. 1, 2020, and July 31.”

I’m not trolling, I’m just trying to find out if our elections are (still?) insecure, and if so, why. I think there were definitely some shenanigans going on in 2020, as my own FR homepage has shown since that election. What has been done about it? ANYTHING?
And that link you just provided gives a lot more details, so thank you for it. And according to the link I provided on this thread, Trump was discussing making Sydney Powell a special counsel to investigate the election in the middle of December, right at the time Bill Barr was leaving.
But according to your link, there was an acting AG, Rosen, who supposedly was blocking Trump’s request for a special counsel to investigate the election, all the way until January 20th, when Trump left office.
What? Trump supposedly let an AG, who worked for him, directly, to block his request for a special counsel to investigate the election, for a whole month? Who is in charge here? Or did it even happen?
After a couple of weeks the German Server story went nowhere. Trump never even mentioned it.
Posting a meme about the German Server story on August 11th, 2023 saying that Sydney and her server story didn't age well is as if you've been a sleep for two and one-half years.
The story didn't age well by the end of November, 2020!
If it wasn't before, it is now. Bernie Kerik just called the leader of that line of thinking and the President's own legal attack quote "a lunatic."
I'm not happy with this development, at all. I disagree they should be sacrificing this line of thinking, and throwing Powell under the bus like this. I'm also not happy to learn (maybe I knew this before, I was majorly disappointed with everything that was going on in December 2020) that Trump let his own AG block him from appointing a special counsel to investigate the election. How is that possible? Is it even true that he asked? Questions that will hopefully be answered soon. It's an outrage that our elections may have been stolen in both 2020 and 2022, and still nothing has been done about it.
Of course you’re “not happy”
But you’re “happy” to quote them and wring your hands and continue to post anti-Trump stories and, oh golly gee, how will Trump survive...
Gotta vote GOPe! Then we can get some Democrat votes, amirite?!
“After a couple of weeks the German Server story went nowhere. Trump never even mentioned it.”
Never mentioning it is pretty far from “immediately shunned,” as you said. In fact her cheerleading squad here took his lack of denial/shunning as further “proof.”
So after asking you twice, you still have no evidence that her claims were “immediately shunned.” Not only was she not “immediately shunned,” she got 14 mil in donations AFTER she said it.

Yes, you agree with me that the meme didn’t age well. That was my original point, which shouldn’t have been this difficult to grasp.
It’s quite sad watching people whose every single thought is rooted in how it might impact Trump, and then see them quickly adjust to make sure whatever they post is solely focused on his defense.
My concerns are about our elections possibly being stolen, and what’s been done about it, if anything. What’s been DONE, not tweeted about.
Since you can’t make actual election security your overriding and prevailing concern, you’re incapable of understanding what anyone who does feel that way is actually saying, much less able to respond in kind.

No, my point is way beyond that. I've explained it. You haven't grasped it. Perhaps I didn't explain it well enough.
Have a good night.
Watch yer six, Sidney.
Is there any real difference between your definition of “release the kraken” and the previous poster’s definition
It was always a bunch of nonsense which helped tarnish any real evidence of a stolen election that was put forward
