President Trump had harsh words this week for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), after the presidential hopeful campaigned in New Hampshire, courting hardcore MAGA voters in the key battleground state.
Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Ron DeSanctimonious is getting absolutely ‘demolished’ for yesterday’s performance in New Hampshire. No crowds, no enthusiasm, no interest.”
The president claimed that the DeSantis campaign “is in total disarray.” He also slammed the Florida leader for hurting his chances to run for president in 2028.
“See, loyalty does matter with Patriots!” Trump remarked.
Many MAGA voters have seen DeSantis’s early 2024 bid for the presidency as a sign of disloyalty to President Trump.
For reference, Trump endorsed DeSantis’s gubernatorial bid in 2018, giving then-candidate DeSantis an immediate 12-point boost that breathed new life into his crippled campaign, as reported by RSBN.
On Tuesday, DeSantis and his family marched in the Wolfeboro Independence Day Parade in New Hampshire, walking through rain and greeting residents along the parade route.
However, DeSantis’s campaigning in New Hampshire hasn’t seemed to move the needle for his campaign. The Granite State has remained solid Trump country as the 2024 GOP primaries approach.
MAGA Inc. spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt told OAN this week, “Governor DeSantis has only come to our ‘First in the Nation’ primary state a couple of times…grassroots voters really value the deep connection with the candidate they’re going to vote for, and there is no candidate who has a greater connection with the people of New Hampshire than Donald Trump.”
According to RealClear Politics, Trump is leading by a whopping 28 points in the most recent St. Anselm poll, and he is leading by a massive 32 points in the state via data from an American Greatness poll.
Overall, Trump holds an average 26.6-point lead across all 2024 Republican primary polling in New Hampshire.
Shades of Hillary's Deplorables comment.
It's no wonder you are attracted to Meatball.
It’s what he does. Like Ron but he is not ready for the firing squad media.
Here’s the greater point. Even if Trump manages to win a plurality victory in the New Hampshire Republican primary, the state is out of reach for him in the general election (as it was in 2016 and 2020). New Hampshire should be competitive for Republicans (GW Bush even carried it).
As Trey Gowdy recently observed, he can’t think of a single swing state lost by Trump in 2020 that will come back to him in 2024. DeSantis, on the other hand, has the capacity to expand the GOP vote to bring numerous states into play that are out of reach for Trump (PA, MI, WI, AZ, NV, GA, VA, NH).
I fully expect to villified now on FR for this common sense observation
You left off the /s symbol.
Corrupt judges are not exactly proof.
Why would Trump supporters want a “globalist” DeSantis as VP?
A lot of Trump supporters know he is going to lose a general election. They don’t care.
More blather from Trump.
A court case is not needed to demonstrate massive fraud, except to the purposefully obtuse.
Anyone objective sees what happened.
Biden won the electoral college by less than 65,000 votes total spread across a small number of states.
We have testimony from those who witnessed fraud.
We have mail fraud and PO employees saying they threw away all Republican ballots.
We have more votes cast than registered voters.
It goes on and on, but you are reducing evidence to only a successful court case.
To this day, we do not know who made the decision to stop counting votes at 3am in multiple states at the same time.
When I read that the Mexican president said to not vote for desantis⦠I knew he was the chosen stooge. Trying to make desantis relevant. They are trying everything but this guy is dead in the water.
Because it makes him look petty and vindictive?
He needs to take shots at Judas Pence instead.
Do not use the lefts lingo, its not overturning anything, its tossing out fraudulent votes and recounting only legal ones.
We’re losing the language war as much as every other war.
So you cannot point to even one court case where it was established that the 2020 presidential election was stolen. As an aside, just because an affiant states something doesn't make it true. Almost every court case where there is discovery and motions (MSJ) has competing/conflicting affidavits.
A “Saint Anselm” poll? Oh... okay.
Funny how Trump is obsessed with attacking a candidate who he says is “over.”
If he wants to talk about loyalty, what about his former VP that’s running against him? Or his former UN ambassador? Where’s his obsession with attacking them?
Trump knows DeSantis is his biggest threat to the nomination, and he’s right.
What Trump fails to mention is that the same polls that he crows about, also show that Independents and women in particular do not want him.
And of course he won’t mention that DeSantis has raised $150 million to his $35 million, and did so in fewer weeks than him.
Right now, the governor of Iowa and Casey DeSantis, have teamed up in a “Mama’s for DeSantis” campaign, and mothers are listening and will be voting for DeSantis.
With MAGA divided and Independents not wanting him, I can confidently say Trump will not be the Republican nominee, much less president.
Point to any filing where a judge allowed the petitioners to present their evidence to a jury of their peers?
“Then why does trump care? He seriously has DeSantis living in his brain. He’s obsessed.”
More like Trump is living in your brain and you are obsessed.
This is a campaign. You kick your opponents. That is the standard game. Formerly, in this country, you challenged them to a duel and killed them.
Meatball is on the Mat. Trump will do to DeGlobalist what he did to Jeb
and Cancun Cruz.
No matter how much Globalist Donor Money Ronnie has in Campaign and PAC
accounts, he won’t win.
Just as Jeb it Lying Ted.
If all true, then Trump, in error, just gave DeSantis more free publicity and showed Trump is really very thin skinned.
