EV's are efficient only if all the variables are in your favor such as your driving habits, cheap and dependable power to charge it, good climate for it, and many charging options along most road trips you take.
And even for the few who have all of that working in their favor for an EV, there are times an EV won't do. (i.e. pickup chores, road trips in directions with few charging options, etc.). EV's should be a free market choice.

Quick question. Saudi oil production has been cut 3X yet the price of oil keeps dropping. Why? Is it because the economy is that bad? Or are we simply using less oil?

70% of all Cobalt comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo
At the current rate of consumption, demand will outweigh supply by 2030
Then what?

Quick question. Saudi oil production has been cut 3X yet the price of oil keeps dropping. Why? Is it because the economy is that bad? Or are we simply using less oil? One reason is because the Fed is raising rates. Many things sold on the stock market and commodities market (such as oil) have prices react oppositely to the value of the dollar. Raising interest rates = dollar is worth a hair more (at least from a day trading perspective), which means the dollar can buy more oil, which means the price of oil goes down.

The non-elected bureaucrats are in charge of this country. Politicians exist to give the people the illusion of freedom of choice.

They want you on public transport. Plain and simple. Public transport that for many, is not available, or impractical for where they live.

Public transport is fine if you live in a civilized society. You don’t have to drive as much and often it is faster.
However, we don’t live in a civilized society.

70% of all Cobalt comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo. At the current rate of consumption, demand will outweigh supply by 2030. Then what? Free market! Free market! Free market!
If the only people buying EV's were the people who wanted them without government coercion, then demand would go down.
Likewise, if the government got out of the way of U.S. miners to mine and produce our own minerals (including cobalt deposits in Minnesota), supply would go up.
The free market is always the best solution. If the topic is about EV's: free market. If the topic is about natural gas vs power: free market. If the topic is about the price of oil: free market. If the topic is about Russia's energy policies giving them too much control over Europe: free market.

Now that I’m retired, an EV would work for me
But 70k for a car doesn’t

The public is signed up for this. My neighbor overspent on a KIA electric car, and couldn’t be prouder of himself.
The marketing of EVs has been genius. Now, the public wants one, with no regard to the shortcomings.

Could have something to do with Team ByeDone flooding the market with oil from our Strategic Petroleum Reserves.
As I understand it, the U.S. is draining the SPR without any intention of replenishing it. THIS IS INTENTIONAL, OF COURSE so as to TRY TO FORCE us all to buy EV'S.
