Conway: Cornel West’s Third-Party Candidacy Could Decide the 2024 Election
Breitbart ^ | 06/06/2023 | Pam Key

Posted on 06/06/2023 11:41:33 AM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Fox News contributor Kellyanne Conway said Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom” that progressive activist Cornel West’s third-party presidential bid could decide the 2024 election.

Conway said, “Even if you don’t become president, you as a third party candidate spoiler can decide who is the president. This happened in 1992 when we had Bush 41 as the incumbent and a guy named Bill Clinton the Arkansas governor got elected with 43 1/2% of the vote. Why? because Ross Perot got 19% of the popular vote even though he did not rack up any electoral votes.”

If the guy takes votes, it’s be from the Democrat.

Race, gender, social justice crap is what he pontificates about... Just more pseudo-intelectual leftist babble (all old ideas repackaged), simply from a black guy.

I can’t see him hurting any Republican, not even the furthest on the left.

That said, even if he takes 2 1/2 percent, great!

2.5% in swing state would be more than enough to change the outcome.

There is some speculation that Sen. Joe Manchin could end up as a Third Party Candidate on the ballot in all 50 States. I that happens, the Dems. are toast.

The fact that Bill Clinton won because of Ross Perot bothers me not one tiny bit.

Look at what the RNC had to offer us that election: "George H.W. Skull and Bones Bohemian Grove Bilderberg Bush".

That is what they are trying to repackage and sell us in 2024.

I agree. I don’t normally agree with CW, but I do find him interesting and thoughtful, not to mention entertaining. I’m glad to have him in the race.

You agree w/ Kellyanne and I agee w/ you. That’s because we’re smart enough to see reality.

In fact, even the dumbest FReeper is smarter than Cornell (once-upon-a-time) West.

“Cornell West will get AT MOST 2 1/2% of the votes.”

Ralph Nader did only a little better than that in 2000 (2.74%, ten times the 0.26% the Greens received in 2020) and got blamed for throwing the election to Bush. Arguably, his 1.63% in Florida gave that state and the election to Bush. He also likely cost Gore New Hampshire and brought Bush closer to winning New Mexico, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Iowa than he otherwise would have been.

In 2016, Libertarian Gary Johnson did even better than Nader (3.27%), and if he took more votes from Clinton than from Trump in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, North Carolina, and Florida, he (and Green Jill Stein) could have given Trump the election. That election was so close that Stein alone could have made the difference with her tiny share of the vote.

West won’t do as well as Nader or Johnson, but if he gets on the ballot in Wisconsin, Georgia, Arizona, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire, he might make a difference. Look for him, though, not to be on the ballot in those states. Democrats will fight to keep him off the ballot, and may be infiltrating leftwing parties to mess up their ballot access efforts.

Typically 3rd parties in presidential elections attract NOTA None of the Above voters. They exist on both wings. The LP blew it in 2016.

The goal of a 3rd party should be to capture the delegates of one or 2 states that become the swing states in a close election. Then, like the European model, they negotiate with the major parties for a seat in the swamp.

The LP blew it in 2016 by not being logical.

“RFK Jr. is a great what-if candidate for the Democrats.”

If RFK Jr. gets the Bernie Sanders treatment by the DNC and Biden, he might decide to run 3rd party. As a third party candidate, if he hit Ross Perot’s 19% in the general election he would almost certainly ensure election of the GOP candidate. Even if he wins only 5% in the general, it might be enough to keep NC red and swing PA, Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin, Nevada, New Hampshire and Michigan red. Colorado and Minnesota might also come into play.

I just thank my lucky stars that Michael Jackson never decided to run for President.
