A local resident told the Tampa City Council Thursday that the cost of reparations in the city should be "$3 million per person."
"All this nonsense, homelessness and all this other garbage you all talk about. Police violence and all this stuff — don’t nobody care about that," the man said.
"We care about our reparations. And we have to put White people on notice that we want our reparations. Our foreparents and us didn’t work for free and [get] underpaid and all this nonsense and the White folks get away with it," the man added," while "they talk about the great city they’re building."

what’s also sad is that whites in this country couldn’t be bothered to pay people to work their large farm complexes, and instead expected the work to be performed for free in exchange for room and board...
they could have paid the people to do the work, and let the workers have freedom of movement, or feed and house the workers, but keep them in bondage...as business models, the former is obviously more in line with Enlightement ideals, so of course our agronomic forebears chose the latter, and we will be paying the price forever to a cohort of people who hate us more with each passing year...

Long before EBT, I was roofing a rental property that a friend owned. The tenant was on food stamps (at least...probably welfare, too). It was early in the month, and he was expecting “ the check.” He’d sit on the couch, watching TV, and every 15 minutes or so, he’d go out to the curb and gaze down the street for a few minutes, waiting for the mail truck to appear. I imagine that’s how he spent three or four days every month.

I suspect that they knew people were capable of that kind of laziness and self-enslavement. But for career politicians, I don’t think the attitude would have gained a foothold in enabling legislation. “Representative government” is a double-edged sword. Jefferson thought we should shake it up, every so often.
I think it is a great idea. Only caveat is if you take the money, you and your entire family must return to the originating country and that entails renouncing your American citizenship for the grievances caused by the American government.
And, make all reparations voluntary on the the tax form. Each April 15th, all money collected will be divided amongst those who meet the qualifications for receiving reparations checks. Checks will be sent to their overseas addresses only.

Maybe they are talking about repatriation instead or reparation.
Dang. You may be onto something there. They should at least have the opportunity to decide. Maybe the Peace Corp can build them all new huts over there to live in and give them lifts to the nearest telephone when needed. “Repatriation Not Reparations!” You just came up with a great bumper sticker.
