OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – Authorities in Oklahoma City are investigating after an officer was attacked while responding to a call.
Around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oklahoma City police were called to a domestic disturbance at an apartment complex near N.W. 16th and Ann Arbor.
OHP search for missing mother and son When an officer arrived at the scene, investigators say a suspect attacked the responding female officer.
“That officer knew prior to that arrival from the previous contacts with the people at that residence, that this suspect did have a couple of felony warrants so when that officer got on the scene and made contact with the suspect and went to talk to him, he turned on the officer and began to violently attack her,” said Capt. Valerie Littlejohn/Oklahoma City Police Dept. “Hitting her and causing her to go unconscious.”

Sending a woman to do a man’s job, especially a very dangerous job like this one, is the height of civilizational stupidity.
That article could use a few more commas, here and there.
The arresting officer could have used a partner. Had that bystander not intervened, the suspect would have beaten her to death. The officer had been clubbed and was already unconscious, but the suspect kept beating her in the head anyway.

Why would a lone cop, especially female, respond to a domestic violence call?

Diversity on display in the PD gets people killed. Sending a lone woman out to corral some large man is folly but required now days.
Women always come out ahead in the commercials, movies and other make believe areas like police work, right?
There are some situations where it’s best for a woman to respond. Handling female and child rape victims, for example.
This is not one of them. I would have requested backup before running in there.
Knowing the circumstances why didn’t the Chief send another Cop with her.
