Our expectations of what we want of media is way way to high as they live and breath by their advertisers. Further the only reason ‘viewer ratings’ matter is for how many actually see those advertisements for the companies - it’s their ‘selling’ feature to keep them on board their network.......and frankly viewers equally join in when we boycott the products and the networks.
