Author states that he believes that :

The 2020 election was close because people were tired of Trump's behavior. The electorate loved his policies, but they didn't like his childishness. The bragging, name-calling, and needless picking of fights became tiring.

Donald Trump is not in office now because he, and he alone, allowed the election to be close enough to be stolen. He didn't have the self-control necessary to run a disciplined campaign and win over large swaths of the electorate.

Recent events would indicate that he hasn't developed any additional self-control or tactical savvy in the last two years.

Many believe this, and, whether true or not, enough believe it so that Trump would do well to modulate his approach to be more a happy warrior than an angry warrior -- especially as to his GOP rivals.

More broadly, such a shift would also permit Trump to develop a useful contrast with Biden's frequent nastiness. And, as with FDR during the Depression, it would fit with the public mood in looking for relief and hope during grim economic times.

Such a change in manner though would not prevent Trump from sticking it to his opponents. Far from it, but instead of using a machine gun and shouting a war cry, Trump should do it with a rapier, a witty comment, and a chuckle. In other words, Trump should model himself more on Bruce Willis than Mel Gibson.

I think we need to face the truth. Most people are propagandized. We do not live in a nation that is for the most part MAGA. I am not seeing or witnessing people changing their minds now and wanting to vote Republican due to inflation etc. My friends who have liberal family members are not seeing them changing their minds at all.

My son told me right before the election that what he saw where he worked.....most by far, of his coworkers hated Trump. He said that I was surrounded by conservatives and not seeing it realisitically.

When I go to Walmart and look around....I’m not betting most of the people there are Conservative.

Yes, there was fraud. But I agree with the author. If the numbers were bigger the fraud would fail.

I work the polls. I came home election night without great expectations. I did not get the feeling that there was a great wave for Trump at all. It wasn’t what I expected. My optimism was not fed by what I saw or heard.

Trump got 12 million more votes the second time (and it wasn’t due to mail in ballots as he apparently got 0 of those). Obama, a very popular President, two terms, 54%, didn’t have that kind of an increase. I believe his number decreased. Clinton, either Bush didn’t have that kind of increase. The difference is that they changed the voting rules so that’s Biden didn’t have to convince anyone to vote for him. They knew he was going to have a huge number that’s why they set the “COVID Rules” in place. If the country were a rule based nation Trump would be wrapping up his second term

Given what we saw election night, the blink of an eye vote changes at 3 am, almost all dumping for Biden, sometimes subtracting votes from Trumps total, acros 8-9 states

It wasn’t as close as the article makes it out to be.

In 2016, he had a primary and surrounded himself with killers. In 2020 he had no primary, hung out at Mar-A-Lago and surrounded himself with his idiot kids and assorted ass kissers.

What a load of nonsense. The man got 12 million more REAL votes in 2020 than 2016. Is it even possible for 158,429,631 REAL votes in a presidential election. According to Statista 168M people are registered to vote in the United States. That’s a 94% voting rate of registered in 2020 & that was up 15M ovewr 2016.

The 2020 presidential election had the highest voter turnout of the 21st century, with 66.8% of citizens 18 years and older voting in the election, according to new voting and registration tables released today by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Does anyone REALLY believe that 66% of all CITIZENS 18 & over cast a ballot?

NO F@CKING WAY!

I will continually vote for Trump whether he is on the ballot or not. The idea of Trump is too important. If the swamp gets to pick our nominees. We are no better than Russia or China. For me its Trump or nobody. I just don’t care anymore. Republicans can lose, I don’t care. A rino is not better than a democrat.

He got more votes in 2020… that makes zero sense. Ballot harvesting is why he lost. So there are much bigger issues that Trump cannot control that hampered his efforts.

Having said all of that, it's important to take a cold, hard look at why Trump lost in 2020...

Yeah, we already did. But thanks for playing along.

Trump “lost” in 2020 because they cheated. Plain and simple.

The article is thought provoking. I am not a never Trumper (I voted for the guy twice), but the article is worth The Donald pondering it.

First, I must state that I am not, have never been, and will never be a NeverTrump. I voted for the man twice and will gladly do so again if he wins the nomination. I'd like to see him in the Oval Office again because I believe it to be important for the soul of our country.

I'm going to look into trade marking these kind of phrases so all of the lying TDS'rs have to pay me to use them.

Total BS. It was stolen. There will be fraud again in '24 but not at the level of '20. '20 was a one off. That is my take.

I normally like the American Thinker articles and believe that most have been well thought out! But not this Green article! He is so far off the mark that American Thinker should consider his retirement.

The 2020 election was won by Trump with an overwhelming number of votes for an incumbent president (a new record I believe). He won except for one thing, the democrats (and deep state) not only cheated beyond belief but they also managed to infiltrate and control all segments of government insuring no challenge to the fraudulent election.

Quite a bit of the government infiltration was Trump's fault IMHO. He appointed many people who were not dedicated starting with Sessions and included Barr and Wray. I certainly hope that he improves his appointee vetting when he takes over in '25..
