Fox News host Sean Hannity asked a 2024 Republican candidate for president a question that has stumped other contenders this week: what makes you different from former President Donald Trump?
Vivek Ramaswamy, a millionaire biotech entrepreneur who has established himself as a prominent critic of “woke culture” in regular Fox News appearances, appeared on Hannity Thursday night to discuss his longshot bid for the presidency.
“You’re looking for the Republican nomination,” Hannity said to his guest. “Probably the leader right now would be Donald Trump if you look a the polls. What are the policy differences you have between yourself and Donald Trump?”
Other candidates have had trouble with that question, no doubt out of fear of angering Trump’s base or even the president himself, who has shown little hesitancy to blast the competition on his social media platform.
“First of all, Donald Trump is a friend,” Ramaswamy said. “I am not running against him. I’m running on a vision for our nation.”
Hannity jumped in: “Wait, wait. But you’re not running for him. You’re running against him. Let’s be honest.”
As the live Hannity crowd laughed, Ramaswamy gave the question a second try.
“He was the OG America first. I am taking about taking that to the next level with America First 2.0,” he said. “Let’s get the job done, which means dismantling federal bureaucracy.”
Ramaswamy proposed “eight-year sunset clauses for anybody in the federal bureaucracy” and completely shutting down federal agencies, including the Department of Education.
“So I think it’s about taking it to the next level,” Ramaswamy said.
Not exactly a policy difference, but an answer.

He might be running for the Veep slot, like Haley.
Yes.
Ron / Ram 2024!
Here’s another candidate that doesn’t past the natural born citizen test. While born in Ohio, his parents are immigrants. Obviously, it doesn’t matter to him, or he just doesn’t know. Both disqualify him in my eyes. It does make a difference when your family has fought, bleed and occasionally died for our freedom. That takes generations.
Like Barak Hussein, NOT a NaturalBornCitizen.
How is it that our Constitution is so easily and quickly subverted?
It is truly Communist/NEW/WE/DEM power,
F THEM !!!
As you explained—he is as much an NBC as Nikki Haley and Bobby Jindal. Meaning—not an NBC.
Deets on Jindal:
Margaret Stock, an Attorney and Retired Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve, went on to invoke Jindal, who she said was born in the United States while his mother was in the country on a student visa.
In an email, Jindal spokesman Kyle Plotkin called the move to associate the governor with the birthright debate “absurd.”
“By the way, the Governor’s mother was here as a permanent resident not on a student visa, which makes the question not just ridiculous but irrelevant,” he said.
The New York Times reported in 2007 that Jindal “was born on June 10, 1971, in Baton Rouge to Hindu parents who had come to the United States six months before so his mother could pursue a graduate degree in nuclear physics at Louisiana State University.”

Vivek G. Ramaswamy was born in Cincinnati, OH to parents legally within the United States. That would make him a natural born citizen of the United States. Period. That has been adjudicated multiple times. So the Constitution is not being subverted at all.
Wrong. If they were born in the United States to parents legally within the the United States then they are natural born citizens. Period.
If his parents were legally within the United States and he was born here then he is a natural born citizen. That is what the term meant at the time it was written into the Constitution, and has also been adjudicated multiple times to mean that.
What has not been adjudicated is if someone was born here to parents *not* legally within US territory.
You said “Period.”
Is that supposed to improve your argument?
If you had said, “Period, Full Stop.”, wouldn’t that have been even better?
Allowing for the fact that most of our vanilla is imported from Mexico, NBC=only plain vanilla Americans with no hint of foreign spice.
“… running for the Veep...”
………………………………………….
Yes.
Ron / Ram 2024!

Ram/Nikki 2024? Or can that be misinterpreted?🙀🙀
. The law business has darn near completely perverted the intent of the founding fathers…. Jesus had much to say about those that sit in the seat of Moses…. And He did not pat them on their backs for being righteous..
The way the law works Obama and Vivek are both natural born. As was McCain, Jindal, Rubio, Cruz, and Haley.
NBC is simply citizen by birth, as opposed to a citizen later (or who isn’t a citizen at all), nothing more. Was Vivek a citizen at birth? That’s an easy one because he was born in the US as was Obama and Haley. Cruz and McCain are NBC because at least one parent was a citizen.
I know what I was taught. I was born in Germany, to two US citizen parents.. I do not have a birth certificate from any one state.. and I do NOT fit the lawful requirements to hold the office of president. The entitlement mindset has no boundaries. Parents control who is a ‘natural born’ US citizen.. not any government entity..
OK, for those of you who insist on being ignoramuses, Native born is NOT Natural Born by the United States Constitution.
This kind of stupidity is what has gotten us to where we are today. thanks a lot
Now that elections don't mean anything we'll just get stuck with whoever the CommiecRATs install.
I disagree, but the bottom line for me is I will not vote for a first generation American.
But were his parents US citizens at the time of his birth as required to be a NBC?
Parents who were "legal aliens" do NOT qualify for NBC status
Are Ram, Jindal and Haley all Natural Born Citizens of India?
If not, why not?
If so, which country, the U.S. or India, has or would have had the sovereign right to demand that they serve in its armed forces in the event a war broke out between the U.S. and India?
“the bottom line for me is I will not vote for a first generation American.”
That’s my stance, too. They have too close of a connection with “the motherland” via their parents’ influence. It’s not a purposeful thing; it’s just natural. They don’t understand America’s concept of freedom.
Nikki Haley displayed this when she signed documents in SC re Confederate flags and icons
She isn’t adamant that we should protect Taiwan from China. When a journalist asked her what she’d do if that happened she would “take a look at it”.
