Burning chlorine or anything with chlorine in its molecule, creates dioxins.

False. It's how it is burned that matters. Burning PVC in combination with other materials that act like catalysts or in low oxygen conditions, like what exists in a landfill or in some incinerators may produce dioxins. Ihe fire was clearly in the open and emitting huge quantities of HCl gas. Animals getting sick and fish kills are clearly the result of HCl not dioxins.

It most certainly is not false.

And yes; other compounds were released and likely were the cause of the fish die off and other immediate animal deaths.

Burning molecules containing chlorine creates dioxins; and if you don’t believe me, please refer to epa.gov or hundreds of other sources.

Dioxins build up over time and accumulate up the food chain (that’s you); and are deadly carcinogens. They are ‘slow kill’ compared to H Cl; but this was not the right decision. They expanded the affected zone by hundreds of miles and tens of thousands of square miles.

The federal government has closed down and permanently evacuated more than one town over this issue; for much smalller exposures than occurred here.
