A Chinese spy balloon crashed into the Pacific off the coast of Hawaii four months ago, U.S. officials say.
Fox News has also learned that at least one Chinese spy balloon flew over portions of Texas and Florida during the Trump administration, despite the former president's insistence it never happened.
The White House said that Biden followed the advice of the Pentagon and top military leaders not to shoot the craft down over the U.S. in case it caused civilian casualties and other collateral damage.
Biden administration officials claimed that Chinese surveillance balloons also briefly transited the continental U.S. at least three times during the Trump administration.

The national security establishment would not have informed Trump, lest he do something rash.
So, either they’re lying, or they withheld critical information from the Trump administration.

So all China has to do is launch it from right here in the USA...since they own plenty of land here...which has to stop.
It wouldn’t surprise me if five or six US guys have bought balloons and fake-looking antennas....to launch over Idaho and see how big a mess they can generate.

You have one of thre options, because not only Trump and other admin officials including nutjob Bolton has denied this happened:
1. The story of the ballonos during the Trump administration is a lie. Based on the way DC/media has conducted itself at least since 2009, I tend to believe this.
2. The intelligence community and military knew, but did not report this. This in itself is a real problem because they are acting outside the chain of command. In this case, firings, courts martial, and prison are in the offing for dereliction of duty at the minimum.
3. Trump, Pompeo, Grennell, and Bolton are lying. The burden of proof is on the unnamed sources. I find this hard to believe because too often 'unnamed sources' with lack of proof translates to "we made it up".

They might have been functioning properly and floating above 100,000 feet instead of at 65,000 feet.
Plus, would they have told Trump? The DoD kept stuff from Trump that they thought he would mishandle.

Another article says that the balloons during the Trump administration went “undetected”. If they were “undetected” at that time how do they know about it now over 2 years later? Stories like this based on “anonymous” sources are usually just lies.
