Well, just when you thought you'd heard enough of this balloon story, there's always a little bit more.

R A W S A L E R T S @rawsalerts · Follow 🚨#BREAKING: Canada’s defense ministry states it is tracking a second spy balloon

📌#Canada | #CA

Currently Canada’s defense ministry states know as NORAD it is actively tracking second a high-altitude surveillance balloon was that was just detected this is developing

From Fox News:

Canadian national defense forces are monitoring the Chinese spy balloon detected over Montana and a "potential second incident..."

The Canadian government has publicly affirmed their country's surveillance of the issue as well.

"A high-altitude surveillance balloon was detected and its movements are being actively tracked by NORAD," read a statement from the Canadian Department of National Defence. "Canadians are safe and Canada is taking steps to ensure the security of its airspace, including the monitoring of a potential second incident."

Why the heck are we allowing China to send spy crafts over our country? And how many more will they send?

You think President Joe is gonna stop them?

They're doing it because they know they can.

If the balloon starts releasing bats which are infected with the next round of Chinese disease to afflict this country, Joey will have some explaining to do.

On the other hand, maybe Joe has passed the responsibility to handle this to either Cackles or Mayor Petie (he is the Transportation expert, after all)

By next Friday, there will be an aerial photograph resembling that iconic picture in the movie UP, a huge cluster of balloons floating over neighborhoods, with one figure underneath holding all the strings in his fist.

Since Canada has become a Communist Sanctuary Country, Trudeau will do all he can to protect the CCP balloon.

And Biden is hoping the Spy Balloon over Montana moves north into Canadian airspace and given sanctuary.

Years ago, when the USA was doing similar things to Russia, they shot down Francis Gary Powers in a U2 Spy Plane, after the SR-71 was introduced the Russians could not shoot one of those down, until spy satellites replaced most other forms of surveillance.

“Space” is generally considered to start at about 60 miles above earth.

The record for balloons is just over 30 miles. This thing is supposed to be around 60,000 FEET. Not even close. They're giving us the middle finger. Big time.

“uhhh, quit staring at it and pop it?”

Agreed. I’m sure someone has a laser powerful enough to pop the bad boy!

Close down the ports to Chinese imports. That will get the Chicoms attention.

I have no idea what the cargo capacity of these balloons are, what if they could carry a nuclear weapon and set it off over the USA at 70,000 or more feet in altitude.

A massive EMP attack would supposedly destroy all things electronic around the country.

Because they are balloons no one appears to taking them seriously as potential weapons.

“Space” is generally considered to start at about 60 miles above earth. Russia, USA, China, etc...

....

Thanks for posting that, I was wondering what the definition of ‘space’ was. 60 miles is about... 316,000 feet? I think I read this balloon is about 40,000. It likely has descended since launch so it may have started much higher.

It looks like a passive-aggressive move by the Chinese. They know we are afraid of offending them by shooting it down, and under Biden we will suffer the humiliation while they laugh up their sleeves.

The international space station sits at about 100 -120 miles up, I think.

I also still think of the Transportation Secretary as “Mayor Pete”, because that’s remains the impression he gives; just a faceless, virtually voiceless Mayor in some small, largely ignored Midwestern town.
Nothing of great consequence.

The W9 nuclear artillery shell weighed only 800lb. Yield was between 10kT and 20kT (I forget exactly ...)

I think I read this balloon is about 40,000.

I doubt it is at 40K feet. I'm just going off MSM reports on this balloon, but that is the height of commercial aviation - which would be dangerous, and unlikely. I believe it must be much higher than that. NORAD has said it "poses no threat to commercial aviation."

Passive-aggressive is a good way to describe much of what China does when it confronts the USA and the West
