Russian President Vladimir Putin said Thursday that Russia was being threatened by German tanks, like during World War Two, speaking at an event in Volgograd, formerly Stalingrad, marking the Soviet victory over Nazi forces in the city.
'It's unbelievable but true. We are again being threatened by German Leopard tanks,' Putin said, adding that Russia had an 'answer' to any country that threatened it.
Putin appeared to have brought his 'nuclear football' to Volgograd.
Aides were seen close to the dictator carrying two black bags.
Observers believed one was a fold-up shield to protect Putin in the event of shooting, while the other is likely to contain Russia's nuclear key.
A security officer carrying the 'nuclear bag' has been seen previously close to Putin during the war with Ukraine.
Russian officials and propagandists have threatened the West with nuclear strikes over their military support for Ukraine.

If Russia has morphed into a traditionalist, Christian country, how do you explain the following facts:
* Lenin's tomb is still a shrine at Red Square in Moscow.
* The Red Star remains on top of the Kremlin.
* The Russian Army still flies the old USSR flag on their tanks and maintains the old Soviet Army decorations.
* The Russians are in close military and economic alliance with China, which is ruled directly by the CCP.
* Russia maintains close political and military relationships with Communist regimes throughout the world, e.g. Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela, Zimbabwe, etc. Venezuela has invited long range Russian bombers to use bases in their country.
* Russia is also aligned with the radical Muslim regime in Iran.
Given these facts, the claims of 1980s Soviet defectors claiming that the Communists would fake their collapse while the Russian and Chinese Communists would continue their goal of world domination is more believable than the assertion that Russia has somehow become a traditionalist, Christian country.
We should have thought of that when we were sending our manufacturing, our technology, and our money to the communist government in China, but many of us were too busy enjoying those cheaper prices we thought we would get in return. Now we're not even getting that.
Yep. Also, at the time of WWII, most Americans had a very positive view of the country, they believed in America and were anxious to defend it. I really believe that we would lose WWIII even with our overwhelming technological superiority.

On the other hand, during that time he did make some very critical remarks about Trump on his show. He use to irritate me. So I was surprised to hear him say, not long ago, that he knew Trump for many years, that they were friends, and that Trump called him to give him a heads up on his soon coming announcment (2015) that he was running for president.

You seem to be conflating Russian friends with skeptics about U.S. foreign policy. Questioning our “leaders”, especially the lying cabal ruling over us right now, is an act of patriotism. The vast majority of posts on Free Republic going back many years is the very epitome of that.
Putin is a menace for sure, but risking a catastrophic thermonuclear war over a backwater, historically corrupt, non-NATO country (while ignoring our own vulnerabilities here at home) is something that needs to be rationally debated. The noticeable lack of efforts at diplomacy to end this conflict before it escalates out of control is deeply troublesome. Once the nukes start flying there’s no telling where it will end. All it takes is one miscalculation. This should concern everyone on this planet who doesn’t want nuclear fallout around the globe.
Such a conflict, even if it could be contained, would surely weaken the United States vis-a-vis China and its expansionist ambitions. The risks are high. Its imperative that we play a long game instead of reacting recklessly. Remember, it was our “leaders” said claimed that sanctions would debilitate Russian and end its aggression.
We need skeptics more than ever in these perilous times.

The funny thing about Tuckers personal texts that have been entered into evidence in the upcoming Dominion trial, it’s not just the texts trashing President Trump during The Steal. It’s also his texts on his contract renewal negotiations with Fox that we’re going on at the same time which gives credence to the rumblings that Tucker keeping quiet during The Steal was part of the contract negotiation deal for Tucker to finally make “Hannity Money”. The judge would not have accepted the contract texts into evidence unless it was relevant. Tucker has already been deposed in the lawsuit and the Dominion lawyer was taunting Murdoch and Carlson abou the deposition and texts a few weeks ago when the Hannity texts were leaked.
Here in northern Michigan we see trucks often with Confederate flags flying.
