Senate Minority Whip John Thune (R-S.D.) told reporters Monday that he “couldn’t disagree more” with former President Trump’s call to terminate parts of the Constitution in order to be reinstated president and said such comments present “a golden opportunity” for Trump’s rivals in 2024.
Thune, who was just reelected to a fourth Senate term, noted that federal officeholders take an oath to uphold the Constitution and added that he takes his seriously.
“Of course I disagree with that. I swear an oath to uphold the Constitution, and it is a bedrock principle — it is the principle, the bedrock of our country. So I couldn’t disagree more,” Thune said.
He predicted that “it will be the grist of the campaign” for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.

The Democrats ignore and violate the Constitution at every opportunity and then hide behind it like their momma's skirt when it serves their purposes.

Is the story about Trump’s words (which have been twisted, again) on the Constitution going to take the Kanye/Fuentes story’s place in the news cycle?
Did Thune condemn the FBI and DNC and Twitter for illegal interference in an election? No, I didn’t think so. He was happy they did it.
Soon kids on campuses will be crying because Trump wants to destroy the Constitution...even though they don't have the faintest notion what the Constitution is.
It certainly the the time in the cycle where things just blow over despite the press making a 3 day news event out of not a tweet. Perhaps cover something that matters, isnt there killer flu in the air, and the first snowstorm ever on the way?
I would say thht Trump might be talking about the amendment concerning the lack of control of a state’s representatives and senators.
Like Thune and the rest of his RINO ilk really care about the Constitution, or the oath they took to uphold it. They’ve done everything they can to destroy it.
Trump could say, “The sun rises in the East and sets in the West,” and the enemedia would scream that he was embracing Hitler and had shown yet again that he is a threat to “our democracy.”
Yes...all the usual suspects are jumping on this....but why isn’t DJT more careful with his words? He keeps giving them fodder.
They lie about what President Trump actually said! They misquoted him, as they always do in order to make him look bad!
He said the massive fraud of the type done by the Democrats disables the protections of the rules and regulations and articles of the Constitution. In other words, it’s the Democrats terminating the Constitution!
Trump’s people should have gotten ahead of this, rather than letting this lie run wild.
