Most voters would rather see Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., as the GOP nominee in 2024 over former President Donald Trump, according to a new poll that also found the majority of Democrats do not think President Biden should seek re-election next cycle.

A Marquette Law School poll revealed that in a hypothetical 2024 matchup between DeSantis and Biden, the two candidates were tied among registered voters, both receiving 42% support. About 11% said they would choose a different candidate.

The results reflect a major increase in support for DeSantis compared to a January Marquette poll where he received only 34% support compared to Biden's 43%. In a March poll from the university, the Republican governor began gaining momentum, locking in 35% support and eventually hitting 38% support in a September survey.

When respondents were asked who they would vote for if Trump were the GOP nominee and Biden the Democratic pick, the poll found Biden with a 10-point edge over the former president, 44% to 34%. Nearly 20% of respondents said they would choose a different candidate and 4% would not vote.

The results show a decline in support for Trump over the past few months, after a March poll found he received 38% support, while still trailing Biden by 5 percentage points.

When asked who they would rather see as the 2024 GOP nominee, DeSantis or Trump, 63% said DeSantis would have their vote, while only 36% were rooting for Trump…

DeSantis also led among Republican-identifying respondents, receiving 55% support over 45% who would like to see Trump representing the party...

According to the poll, 67% of respondents do not think Biden should seek another term in the White House. Among Democrats, 53% do not think the president should run in 2024.

Among all respondents, 55% disapprove of Biden…

DeSantis should come out and say he's not running in 2024. It will be the end of his short political career if he doesn't.

if Trump wasn’t running there would be ZERO chance of Biden running again, he is only there to keep Trump out.

When it comes to rigging elections, fox is on top

They say DeSantis ‘remains’ the lead.

Trump is ahead 30 percentage points against this cabal funded non candidate, and that’s from CNBC today

These guys are pricks. There. I said it.

True, but Republicans aren’t the only ones who get to vote.

SHOULD BE

LET ME SERVE FOUR YEARS as your VP and then you can pick
someone else to serve the next four as VP and then eight more as President.

DeSantis would not get a 1 on 1 with Trump. If you like self-torture, remember Jennifer Rubin spending most of her columns attacking Cruz because it was beyond her imagination that a man like Trump would get the nomination? Those Jennifer Rubins make up 10% of the party.

Close to 25% in states like Connecticut and Massachusetts. Weicker-liker types. Region of Jeffords and Specter. (I exempt Jacob Javits since he ran strong third party in NY, helping Republican D'Amato win the general against Israel basher Liz Holtzman [self hating Jewess?]. I believe he did it on purpose because he was libera;, but pro-Israel like Lieberman.)

Anyway, the Jennifer Rubin/Weicker-Liker Republicans WILL have one or more candidates in this one. He may try to fake a tansformation (akin to Bush the Elder '88), but he will really be a Charlie Crist.

Nikki Haley or Marco Rubio is as far right they will go. Liz Cheney or Jeff Flake is preferred territory. It is critical that they not even UNDERSTAND where we are on cultural issues. Even if DeSantis is faking to some degree, he understands the music and is good at it. You won't get 17 candidates this time, but there will be half-a-dozen to start, and whittled down 3 or 4, including President Trump.

He will lose the general election, it won’t even be close.

With mail in ballots the Republican’s won’t win national elections for generations, perhaps never again.

I can believe Buttgig is in the running. Maybe that’s why he and his male partner adopted those babies, a boy and a girl. Can you imagine how the media will fawn over Buttgig and his children at the Democrat convention? Can you imagine the liberal commentary about how Buttgig and his man and kids reflect family values and all that?

I hate to he so cynical to think Buttgig adopted babies as props for a future political campaign, but to liberals, the sight of homosexual men as nurturing fathers will be something they will revel in.

The only term limit being discussed is to hold Trump to one term - by trying to make it illegal for Trump to run. Yet we’re perfectly expecting a corrupt, 50+ year career corrupticrat, compromised, octogenarian run against Trump.

Yet Trump still outpolls DeSantis among Republicans

Don't worry. Barring a catastrophic blunder, DeSantis has nowhere to go but up. His support will widen.

Trump, on the other hand, has no realistic path to the White House. His support will gradually loosen.

Them's the facts.

Typical never-Trump Fox News poll.

The Aussies and Paul Ryan have to have their poll justify their cheating to destroy him.
