Early Voting Has Already Begun In Georgia’s Senate Runoff. Here’s How Dems Pulled It Off
The Daily Caller ^ | 11/26/2022 | Jason Snead

Georgians have many reasons to be grateful this Thanksgiving, but a runoff election free from partisan lawsuits is not one of them. Amid its contentious campaign between Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock and GOP challenger Herschel Walker, Georgia Democrats called in Marc Elias — the lawyer behind the 2016 Russia collusion hoax — to force Georgia to allow an extra day of early voting on the Saturday following Thanksgiving.

Elias shopped around for an activist judge likely to grant him an easy win, and he found one. The GOP eventually appealed, but the day before Thanksgiving the Georgia Supreme Court refused to block the lower court’s opinion.

That’s a disappointing outcome that sets aside the black-and-white text of the law. As the Honest Elections Project pointed out in our brief, Georgia’s election code clearly states that if the second Saturday before the runoff election follows a Thursday or Friday public holiday, early voting should not take place on that Saturday.

The provision is meant to give election workers an extra day off over Thanksgiving weekend. After working long hours for weeks during the midterms, Georgia’s election workers have surely earned it.

The impact on Georgia voters, meanwhile, was minimal. Voting in Georgia is easy, as the midterm election proved. For the runoffs, the law guarantees Georgians a minimum of five days to vote, and everyone can vote by mail or on Election Day.

With so much riding on the outcome of the Senate runoff, Georgia Democrats are looking for every edge. That’s why Marc Elias’s lawsuit did not seek to compel early voting statewide on Nov. 26, but to simply allow it.

That’s a distinction with a difference. Elias’s bet was that big, metropolitan counties such as Fulton County, which contains Atlanta, would be far more likely to have the resources to pull off last-minute holiday voting. Rural, less-populated counties, on the other hand, would be far less likely to be able to pull off the extra day of voting, especially with little notice.

So far, that bet seems to be paying off. Major counties which heavily favored Warnock in the Nov. 8 Midterm election have overwhelmingly embraced the extra day of runoff voting. Comparatively few conservative counties, representing a far smaller subset of the state’s population, have followed suit.

The bottom line: Elias is grabbing a bonus day of voting that Democratic counties are disproportionately taking advantage of.

The Republicans need to stop fighting early voting and pull out all the stops to aid and facilitate it. Early and mail-in voting are NOT going away, so it’s time to embrace that new reality.

“Perhaps it is time that conservatives start playing by the only rule that matters in today’s politics…”

Oh, but we don’t want to stoop to their level.

I give Walker about 1 in 100 chance of winning this race given everything the media has thrown at him, the cheating, the corruption, the RINOs and the apathy.

“ Early and mail-in voting are NOT going away, so it’s time to embrace that new reality.”

It won’t matter, regardless if Republicans embrace it to the hilt. Republicans/conservatives don’t have anywhere near the ballots to harvest that Democrats do. Migrant camps, tent cities, urban slums, low rent apartment complexes, college dorms - this where Democrats are harvesting ballots, it’s not in suburbia, it’s in inner cities. They have a lot more available for harvesting than Republicans ever will.

What it means isn’t that Republicans need to adopt the Democrat tactics, what it means is that voting and elections are meaningless, and will be so forever more. If the people want or even care to wrest the government back from the government class, it won’t happen in elections or by legal means. It will take something else entirely.

RE: How Dems Pulled It Off

They frown, fold their arms and pout. Then come the lawsuits and the media propaganda and Garland’s thugs.

Standard operating procedure.

If the LEFT in Georgia are using "ballot harvesting" to boost their candidate's vote count then Conservatives may be obligated to play by the SAME RULES.

Since "ballot harvesting" apparently is NOT illegal, because the votes are ACCEPTED and COUNTED, then the only alternative is to BEAT THEM at their own game.

Some have already stated it's the reason California, in the legislature, retained their numbers because they "out-harvested" the LIBERAL-LEFT. Beat them at their own game

I noticed only certain areas in counties offering early voting had Saturday and Sunday voting. This seems wrong to me. If a county offers early voting it should be all or nothing on what days and times.

If the GOP doesn’t make the effort to work with early and mail-in voting, and get a harvesting operation under way, they can forget about winning another major election. They’re going to have to give it their best shot.

what it means is that voting and elections are meaningless

You're very quick to clump it ALL into the same basket.

Remember Florida worked just fine because they FIXED the broken system BEFORE the election ever took place.

Tennessee works just fine. One person.. one vote!

It CAN HAPPEN if, as in Arizona, those perpetrating the hoax on voters are CHALLENGED... and that challenge is taking place AFTER the election was held!

Rise up and BE HEARD.

They can forget about ever winning another major election now.

This will not be rectified by elections.

“ Remember Florida worked just fine because they FIXED the broken system BEFORE the election ever took place.”

Florida fixed their broken election BEFORE Democrats took control of all statewide executive offices.

Florida or Tennessee are not the model you are looking at here. The model is California, New York, Oregon, Washington, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Nevada, Minnesota, Illinois…and now today Arizona are the models. There are not enough states left with free elections to elect a non-Democrat nationally.

You can rise up all you want, but if the sound you hear is just voices protesting, you are just wasting your breath.

Only a very very different kind of sound will change this.

I don’t know a single person that supports Warnock but I can gaurantee that the Atlanta counties will give him the win.

There’s just one problem with that. The DC RINO elites hate the MAGA (tea party) candidates to the core. They will not help , they won’t lift a finger, they won’t send money they could care less. It’s all about them having control of the party and their handpicked candidates….and any others will be destroyed! And MAGA folks are despised and are not welcomed! Simple!!
