On a visit to Kherson, I see why the Ukrainians will win — with our support
The New York Post ^ | November 18, 2022 | Douglas Murray

Russia is going to lose this war. And Ukraine is going to win it. How can I say that with confidence? Because yesterday I was in the city of Kherson and saw Russia’s defeat with my own eyes.

Kherson is part of the south of Ukraine that was invaded and occupied in March this year. In September it was one of the four regions which the Kremlin gave a “vote” to in order to pretend that the regions really wanted to be part of Russia, not Ukraine. These “plebiscites” were meant to validate the occupier. But the whole thing was a sham, with results not seen since Saddam Hussein held “elections” in which he regularly received over 100% of the vote.

The Kremlin thought it was playing a clever game in “making official” its gobbling up these vast regions. But all the time Ukraine — backed by military provisions sent from the West — fought a far cleverer and braver war.

In recent days the consequences have been paying off. Last week the Ukrainians managed to take back the city of Kherson and much of the surrounding region. And they did it with barely a fight. So swift was the Ukrainian advance that many Russian soldiers didn’t even get the memo that they were meant to have fled the city.

that’s one explanation

another is that Russia is simply losing on the battlefield

all the evidence I’m seeing so far points to option (b)

Wake me up when Ukraine controls its own air space. This article is designed to support continued flow of US taxpayer $$$. As US SecDef clown said last week, the New narrative is “as long as it takes”. The US / deep state plan is to keep it going.

I believe you are mistaken.

Putin is not Stalin.
He doesn’t have the secret police forces Stalin did.
He doesn’t have the ideological commitment Stalin had from his troops.
He doesn’t have the control over information Stalin had.
He doesn’t have the population of young men Stalin had.

So he is a stalin wannabe

There are about 25 million persons of Russian ethnicity living in what was the Soviet Union outside of the Russian Federation.

The Russian Federation will protect these people as it deems necessary.

The Russian Federation will not tolerate systemic discrimination against them by Ukraine or other post-Soviet government.

The Russian Federation can not support 25 million Russian refugees.

In 1957, Eisenhower sent federal troops to Little Rock, Arksnsas to end discrimination.

The western world is insisting on the total destruction of Russia.

The only country trying to destroy another country is Russia trying to destroy Ukraine. All the Ukrainians are asking of the Russians is that they go home.

I don't, whereas you posted about your admiration about RINO Ridge. Are there other milquetoast Republicans you adore, or did you go right to Biden?

IKR, hence why more and more Americans and other foreign ex-service personnel are heading to Ukraine......to fight on the side of the DPR, etc. militia in the Donbass region.

Let me know when Douglas Murray, like Sean Penn, etc., grab an AK-47 or such and actually show their support in the actual fighting instead of holding some flag, kthx.

“ The Russians no longer have that capability. How’d their last winter offensive work out in February and March?”
—————
Last time they tried with only 300,000 troops, thinking that they could win with a lot of bluster on the cheap. Now they know better. They have a lot more than 300,000 troops…and they cannot afford to lose. This is a war of survival for the Russian nation. Watch some of Peter Zeihan’s videos to see why Russia invaded.

In areas to the northeast, Russia allegedly had according to a comment in The Guardian soldiers on punishment duty that were not up to the job.

There were also local militiamen that melted back to civilian life.

Putin felt compelled to send in Russian troops. It was a special military operation and it did not get proper planning.

Of course they are going to win.

The rules of war established after the world wars basically ensure that any occupation will eventually fail if the locals are determined to oust the occupiers.

Since none of the actions required to quash such an uprising are allowed anymore.

I also give Taiwan and Poland nukes.

The Poland that emerged after WWII was smaller in territory than any Polish state since Napoleon's short lived Duchy of Warsaw. It makes more sense for Poland and Ukraine to return to some kind of political or military union which includes nuclear weapons as a deterrent to further Russian aggression. In light of Russia breaking the Budapest Memorandum, and Russian threats to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine, nuclear deterrent if fully warranted.

Russia is slowly destroying all of Ukraine’s energy, communication, and tranportation infrastructure with cruise missles. Don’t believe everything you see on the news.

“All the Ukrainians are asking of the Russians is that they go home.”

Ethnic Russians have called the area home since Russia snatched the areas from the Turks.

In 1823, President Monroe issued the Monroe Doctrine.

When Communists seized Cuba, President Kennedy launched the Bay of Pigs operation.

Nations like their “space”.
