Mick Mulvaney: Trump Is ‘The Only Republican Who Could Lose’
Breitbart ^ | 11/15/2022 | Pam Key

Posted on 11/16/2022 6:13:59 AM PST by ChicagoConservative27

Former acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney said Tuesday on CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360” that his old boss, former President Donald Trump is the only Republican who can’t win the 2024 general election.

After Trump announced his candidacy, Cooper asked, “Do you think this is good for the Republican Party?”

Mulvaney said, “No, I don’t. Because I think he’s the only Republican who could lose. If he wins in 2024, now he’s the candidate. He is the likely Republican nominee. Can he be beaten head-to-head by Ron Desantis or Tim Scott? Sure. But it’s not going to be a head-to-head race. There will be five or six other people in the race, and he’ll get the 35% that really support him, and under the winner-take-all primary system, he’ll be the nominee.

I wonder how many states now have sore loser laws which would prevent Trump from running as an independent after not getting the R nomination? Or is that only for state-level offices?

(fwiw I think Trump is already the presumptive nominee)

Trump got 12m more votes. He became much much more popular. So much so that they had to change the rules because there is no one in the country who could turn out Trump numbers. That being said. The rules have now changed. Trump has to target 95m votes to win. He has to secure GA and AZ and although I know he’s right with the mail in ballot scam he needs to have a strategy for it. Before election day 2024 he should have 80m banked votes. Don’t focus on rallies. Focus on going to ballot harvesting parties where you get people voting right there on the spot, collect them all (make sure they voted correctly) and drop them off. Elections are no longer about ideas. Don’t pretend they are.

People are still attending the big rallies.

I don’t see any drop off at all.

What would cause people who observed him for four years
and then went back or voted for him the first time, to
suddenly abandon him.

Every one of them feels like their vote was stolen.

You don’t think they’ll want to cast it again?

That’s only half the equation. You need a good candidate AND no Vote Fraud. The other half of the reason why there was a red wave in Florida is that Florida has been fixing it’s voting system since the hanging Chad debacle.

I don’t see how Trump fixes it nationally in less than two years with so much entrenched opposition. Even Trump isn’t really talking about the issue which worries me. If he makes it to running ( doesn’t get arrested ) and everything is the same, it will be a pointless narcissistic endeavor.

Trump would lose. More than half the country won’t vote for him. But other Republicans aren’t sure things either.

You will definitely see all of the hidden agenda come out..There was a chance that Trump could hire back some of the ‘advisors’ that stabbed (and us) in the back, but they are making his list much easier. To all of his former ‘supporters’: Choose your side now, one side or the other. Don’t try to stand on the top of it, or you will fall off.

Bottom Line: The winner in ‘24 is going to have to kick butt, I would say the popular vote will be above 80 million. Trump only has to improve his ‘20 total by 8% to get above 80 million. That is VERY do-able IMO.

I see it the same way.

While there has been all sorts of chatter about Pompeo and others putting their hat in the ring, it would be interesting if Trump were the only Republican who has a ‘hat in the ring’ at the 2024 GOP Convention.

What’s with all this Tim Scott infatuation ?

He’s a Mitch McConnell acolyte, who endorsed Lisa Murkowski over her conservative opponent in Alaska.

“he point Mulvaney made is that Trump is polarizing, and that while nobody was excited to vote for Biden, a great many were eager to vote against Trump”

Then why did Trump get many millions more votes than he did his first time?

Any decent leader is polarizing. Some of you think you are deep thinkers by mouthing off platitudes.

And don’t even come on this site claiming that Biden, who couldn’t get fifty people to come out and see him the few times he campaigned, got 81 million votes. It takes a special kind of idiot to actually believe that.

And in two more years, if the country is still standing, there will be so much pain that people will not have the luxury to prattle on about Trump’s so-called ego.

It’s a state by state battle.

Hillary Clinton won the popular vote and lost the electoral.

The war will be fought in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

States Trump won in 2016 and lost in 2020.

We all forget, that 2018 was stolen too and a test run for 2020. First midterm for opposite party, bla, bla bla, the economy was on fire, taxes cut, prices down, Trump was popular. Companies moving back to the US everyday. Everyday we said nope, not tired of winning. 7 CA R congressman won on election night only to find out the next day or week they lost and no one not even Trump did a single thing about it. That’s why Trump or any republican can lose again. Does Trump have a plan to defeat the fraud? He just saw what they did to Lake and all eyes were on it and nothing happened, why does he think it will be different next time? I want him to win, but Pompeo is just stating the obvious. He was the one and only loyalist Trump ever had.

Trump didn’t lose, and what took place against him would take place against anyone else we ran.

Exactly! It’s same with AZ and NV. We didn’t lose any of those races. In NV, we an’t even legally clean up the voter rolls of dead or moved out of state voters. They have the judges and state legislatures.

I’m frankly sick of hearing that we need to GOTV. We did! We got the votes but we don’t overcome the ballot fraud.

Ok so you think Desantis or anyone else for that matter could win and do it without topping 80 million popular ‘votes’?
