Joe Biden Kisses Codifying Roe v. Wade Goodbye
PJ Media ^ | 1/14/2022 | Matt Margolis

Biden’s big pitch for the midterm elections was the promise that, if Democrats won two more seats in the Senate and held the House, they would codify Roe v. Wade into law.

Well, they’ve failed to do that. With a runoff election in Georgia, the best they can hope for is a 51-seat majority in the Senate, and this morning both NBC News and the Daily Caller are projecting that Republicans have flipped the House.

On Monday, six days after Election Day, Biden acknowledged the political reality that codifying Roe won’t happen.

“Mr. President, what should Americans expect from Congress as it relates to abortion rights after the midterms?” NBC’s Peter Alexander asked Biden.

“I don’t think they can expect much of anything other than we’re going to maintain our positions. I’m not going to get into more questions. I shouldn’t even have answered your question,” Biden said before adding, “I don’t think there’s enough votes to codify, unless something happens unusual in the House. I think we’re going to get very close in the House. I think we’re going to be very close, but I don’t think we’re going to make it.”

So, if it wasn't in the constitution before, what makes them think it's in the constitution now?

Since the SCOTUS has ruled this issue is governed by the states, a pro-Abort federal mandate requires a constitutional amendment to become federal law. Period.

Amazingly it was an issue, along with forgiving student loans, that bought useless idiot votes for the election campaign but no longer an issue now.

It doesn’t. The federal government can’t deny the states the power to regulate abortion. It would take a constitutional amendment.

This is assuming that the next House majority whip can keep all the Republicans from caving to their inner DemocRat.

Except when they promise to screw you over and raise your taxes. You can pretty much believe them then.

To be fair, they thought that Hillary would be the next president and they could replace Kennedy and RBG and Scalia with liberals.

They could do it on the last day of the legislative calendar. If — and only if — they limit it to something like the European standard.

Manchin said he would agree to get rid of the filibuster for a simple law. Buy the dems were greedy and asked to overturn over 500 state laws, so Manchin balked.

But, as soon as a R POTUS is elected, it will go away the same way as it was created.

No abortion bill and no student loan forgiveness.

Some people must be feeling like they've been played for fools.

The Dems are just going to recycle these winning issues for Nov 2024. Why give up on a good thing?

No abortion bill and no student loan forgiveness - some people must be feeling like they’ve been played for fools?

And yet, they would vote Democrat again. They ARE fools.

Why give up on a good thing?

They may not give up on it, but the likelihood of a repeat is diminished.

Won't Get Fooled Again

They’ll just say some evil Trump judge torpedoed it, but vote Dem and we’ll make it happen.

See 34.

Fool me once, shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.

Reality has a tendency to b***h slap a person back into reality from fantasy land.

Or is that not your experience in life?
