Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) is leading Democrat Charlie Crist by 11 points in race for the governor’s mansion in the Sunshine State, according to a poll released on Wednesday.

The Mason-Dixon Florida poll found that 52 percent of likely voters supported DeSantis, compared to the 41 percent that backed Crist, a former governor and U.S. representative.

DeSantis also had stronger support from his own party, with 92 percent of Republicans saying they would back the incumbent governor. Fewer Democrats, 84 percent, said they would support Crist, who was a Republican when he last served as governor.

I suspect the Left overplayed their hand after the hurricane.

I guess the liberal dreams of another "Katrina" event taking down a Republican have been dashed.

DeSantis appears to have come through this hurricane with flying colors, much to the dismay of his political enemies.

Around 40% is the floor for Dems. Going way back, Mondale got 40.6% of the popular vote against Reagan in 1984. Given that Reagan was an incumbent and one of the most popular Presidents ever, you can pretty much figure in most national or statewide races, Dems will pull 40% even if Josef Stalin or Pol Pot are on the Dem ticket.

Except that Jews comprise only 3% of the FL population, and around 30% of that 3% vote GOP. So the overwhelming majority of the 40% of Floridians who supports Crist aren’t Jews.

I’m surprised DeSantis isn’t ahead by 30+ points.

Mason-Dixon has historically been the Gold standard of statewide polling.

You can pretty much count on this being where the race presently stands.

DeSantis needs to increase his lead to 20% to overcome the Democrats ballot rigging that's sure to happen.

I'm NOT being sarcastic here. I wouldn't put it past them to make every attempt to steal Florida's Gubernatorial race at this point after 2020.

“How is it that 40% of the Florida electorate supports a party-switching, peter-puffing, Commie ‘RAT?”

People like my mother was in Texas before she dies. She did not care who was running, or what their stance was. It could have been the worst D-bag in history (I know...doesn’t narrow the demonrats down at all), and as long as there was a “D” next to their name, she would vote for them...then blame Republicans for the state of the country. She almost disowned me (literally) when I joined the Young Republicans in college many years ago.
