Retired Gen. David Petraeus predicted Sunday that the U.S., along with NATO allies, would “take out” Russian forces if Russian President Vladimir Putin decided to use nuclear weapons in his war against neighboring Ukraine.
During an appearance on ABC’s “This Week,” Petraeus told co-anchor Jonathan Karl that western powers have to take Russia’s nuclear weapons threats seriously, noting National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan’s recent remarks that US officials have warned the Moscow of “catastrophic consequences” if the Kremlin deploys nuclear weapons.
“And what would happen?” Karl asked.
“Well, again, I have deliberately not talked to Jake about this. I mean, just to give you a hypothetical, we would respond by leading a NATO, a collective effort, that would take out every Russian conventional force that we can see and identify on the battlefield in Ukraine and also in Crimea and every ship in the Black Sea,” Petraeus replied.

Reminds me of an episode or two of the Twilight Zone... or Mad Max.
They should be very careful for what they seek - the world will not be what they envision after they achieve it, whether it involves a nuclear holocaust or not. They might wish instead that they were among the dead. Soros is near the end anyway, he wouldn’t survive very long as his money would be worth nothing.
Remind me again what exactly are our vital interests in Ukraine that we would risk a nuclear war over? Somehow I missed that part.
Very dangerous times for our population the bulk of which has no inkling we may soon be at war over an issue that 90 percent of them could care less about. And we are “led” by a senile, corrupt fool on the take from Ukraine and China to the tune of millions of dollars.
What I have said before, Putin knows Russia would be hit hard if they launched a limited nuclear attack on Ukraine. So he may just decide to launch a massive first strike against NATO which would include us. He would have nothing more to lose.
I thought our Generals were supposed to be smarted than that.
He is supposed to know that if President Putin uses a nuclear weapon, we will all need to be up to date with our survival skills. Or he is only talking to placate the dumb masses (say that quickly).
It is really sad when you can trust your enemy to be truthful and mean what he says, but you can’t depend on your own leaders to protect us all.
“And, sure, Russia started this, and it’s “their fault”. But getting to the point of a full-scale nuclear exchange with hundreds of millions of dead? Frankly, I think that will be on us.”

Trump’s election was a “black swan” event - he inadvertently exposed to a much greater extent with almost no effort that the US has been run for decades by interests (major parties, media, intellectuals, corporations, regulatory agencies, education system, judiciary) not beholden to those of the citizen-people of this great nation, its Constitution, the rule of law.
They feared him so much and had nothing on him, that they had to invent “crimes” in order to keep him from doing more damage to them. Machiavellian play if there ever was one.
This is what the Battle of Armageddon looks like.
We can avoid it for the moment. But it’s coming.
