Up to 400 violent criminals are being shipped off to fight for Russia on the frontlines in Ukraine after recruiters promised them a pardon in exchange for six months of service.
Prisoners from penal colonies who signed up for the deal were seen filing into prison vans destined for a 'training camp' in the south of Russia, video footage has shown.
After perfunctory military instruction the murderers, sex offenders, burglars and other convicts will be sent to the front line following the mass jail release.

The worst thing possible for civilians in a war zone is for the rapists, child molesters, murderers, and robbers to move into their city, with uniforms and guns and full authority to act out their wildest dreams and fantasies, and pathologies.

Ukraine didn’t go to prison and pull out the sickest of the sick with no military experience to form a special group of them to deliver horror and chaos and act out on the civilians.

We filtered what sort of crimes we would overlook, there are crimes, and then there are crimes.
Many young males do crimes of too much undirected male energy, such as felony joy riding, in the 60s a judge could look at such a young man and decide that what would channel his energy into positive manhood was the Army or Marine Corps.
Russia is introducing the horror makers, men who should never be sent to war and in their own mercenary units of nightmares, with the promise that they will be allowed to do as they please with the civilians.
The recruiting video shows that the terms and conditions of this deal are made clear to the prisoners - they can’t say they didn’t know what they were getting into.
The men will fight as Wagners and become eligible for full pardons after serving six months on the front lines.
For those facing long sentences of hard time in Russian prison this may be appealing.
A real life “Dirty Dozen” type scenario.
During the Vietnam war many young guys who were found guilty of a felony or serious misdemeanor were given a choice by the judge, enlist or prison. Always wondered what the long term outcomes were for those guys.
Probably mixed; later in the war drugs posed a serious problem even for “normal” young men. Given the rules within which our troops were expected to fight in Vietnam, the killings of civilians and such were probably inevitable.
Of course it did. Zelensky freed the criminals in Kiev area and handed them weapons without record on the third day without even organizing them into units. They were responsible for most of the “Russian atrocities” in and around the city.

probably the only smart thing Putin has ever done. We did the same thing in WW2. Send the criminals off to war. They love to kill and if they die in the process? society is safer and we save money!
I’d love to hear that guys stories. He could shock people with the reality of his high paid murderous ways.
