BREAKING: California to begin sweeping BAN on new gasoline car sales TOMORROW in bid to reach 100 percent zero emissions by 2035

California is set to roll out its long-awaited ban on new gasoline cars on Thursday, which is part of its rule to have all new cars sold by 2035 to be electric only in an effort to fight climate change.

Governor Gavin Newsom first announced the ban in 2020 as a means to reduce the amount of smog-induced pollution in the air, which will improve the state's air quality that is the worst in the US.

The move will also make California the first in the world to mandate zero-emission vehicles on its roads.

Thursday's launch will require that 35 percent of new passenger vehicles sold in the state by 2026 produce zero emissions, then 68 percent by 2030 and ultimately 100 percent five years after.

'The climate crisis is solvable if we focus on the big, bold steps needed to stem the tide of carbon pollution,' Newsom said in a statement Wednesday.

The move, according to Newson, will cut greenhouse gas emissions by 35 percent in the nation's most populous state.

A few are still blaming CA for their states leaning left.

Now for reality.

It’s not people from CA that are screwing other states up, it’s their own kids who are being indoctrinated by government public schools, as the produce hundreds of thousands of new leftist voters every year, year in and year out...

It’s coming from within their own communities, your own schools. But it’s much easier to blame it on a few moving in from CA. I’d bet good money, about 75+ percent of those bailing out of CA, are very conservative. Just like me.

Btw, Arizona is right next door to CA, I've been in AZ about 3 years and nearly everyone we meet, are from CA! No joke.

And just what happened in the Arizona primary? The leftist got KO'd across the board!

The diesel trucks that deliver products to/from CA will stop running. The electrics will be sitting along a road or rest stop waiting to be rescued. The stupid is strong with Newsom.

This is going to bite if people go to Nevada or Oregon and buy cars there.

Don't bet on that. DMV will look at the purchase date and insist on collecting the sales tax before they let you register the vehicle. If it's not CA smog certified, you'll likely have to get that done too.

Cities around San Diego have city sales tax in addition to state sales tax. The El Cajon Harley shop was compelled to collect city sales tax for people who lived in San Diego vs El Cajon as a home address.

When Borders book store was still in business, I preferred to shop at the store with the lowest city sales tax on top of the state sales tax. That was usually a good approach except that the store near Rancho Penasquitos had a much better computer science section than stores in other parts of the county.

I’m sure that a car can’t be registered without paying the sales tax. But... the whole sales tax is probably going to go to the state rather than the municipality getting a cut.

Actually Newsummmmm will help the smog problem by people leaving calif. in droves. Thry will drive their gas powered vehicles out of Valif. as fast as they can and the smog will go away.
In ten years Calif. will be left with illegals, commies, other something for nothing losers, gangs, cartels all vying for power in the failing state.

Exactly why Obamacare was peddled as a “tax” to the Supreme Court while denying it was a tax when trying to sell it to the people.

“LA striving for the Havana look.”

My variation on this—with apologies to Arthur C. Clarke:

“Any sufficiently leftist state will become indistinguishable from Cuba.”
