Do the police put things favorable to the target in an affidavit, the purpose of which it to get a warrant to search the target’s premises?

Seems unlikely.

I watched Dershowitz say he’s a democrat & voted for Biden.

Yep. And he still thinks that what they’re doing to President Trump is wrong.

If Trump does file a law suit, his lawyers get discovery and redactions can’t be a part of it. First requirement: there is a need to know. Secondly, every lawyer needs to have the appropriate clearance level. The hearing will most likely be held in a secure space for the presentation and litigation of secure information relevant to the defense.

Sooo ... redaction is by nature “cherry picking.”

I would expcet ZERO honest cherry picking from ANYBODY in the government. There are plenty of excuses, the big one being to safe face and project an image of honesty and trustworthiness. Those things the government is not.

-- Constitutionally-protected individual freedom trumps the government's "national security" Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card. --

Maybe in principle, but not in practice. "State security" is, as a practical matter, a get-out-of-jail-free card. It was used to bury a factual finding that the government is wholesale sweeping up private communications for storage by the government, for review at the government's leisure. Many lawsuits consolidated in the 9th Circuit, oh, 5, 10 years ago. Eventually case dismissed due to state secret.

But even that is not needed in most cases. The court system is in cahoots with the rest of the federal government, and the courts decide the scope of 4th amendment protection. The court decides the meaning of "reasonable" in all 4th amendment situations. Wxhen it finds a violation, the remedy is to toss the evidence IF there is any sort of court case.

I said, -- Constitutionally-protected individual freedom trumps the government's "national security" Get-Out-Of-Jail-Free card. --

You said Maybe in principle, but not in practice.

You might as well say, "Well that's the law but these politicians don't follow the law.

Well what else is new? That's the point of the whole problem here. Why does the Right continually put Leftist rebellion under a microscope and then agree with the Left that Leftist crimes (unconstitutional and thus illegal acts) negate the law (the Constitution)? How stupid.

Patriots needs to do whatever it takes to the the government submitted back under its constitutional limitations.
