Trump Executive Nears Plea Deal With Manhattan Prosecutors
NY Times ^

Posted on 08/15/2022 3:42:41 PM PDT by springwater13

Allen H. Weisselberg, a longtime top executive at Donald J. Trump’s family business who was indicted on tax charges last summer, is nearing a plea deal with prosecutors from the Manhattan district attorney’s office but would not cooperate with a broader investigation into Mr. Trump, according to two people with knowledge of the matter.

His plea deal, if finalized, would bring prosecutors no closer to indicting the former president but would nonetheless brand one of his most trusted lieutenants a felon.

On Monday, Mr. Weisselberg’s lawyers and prosecutors met with the judge overseeing the case, according to a court database. The judge scheduled a hearing for Thursday in Mr. Weisselberg’s case, a possible indication that a deal has been reached and a plea could be entered then.

While Mr. Weisselberg, 75, is facing financial penalties as well as years in prison if convicted at trial, a plea deal would scrap a high-profile trial and most likely would spare him from a lengthy sentence. One person with knowledge of the matter said that Mr. Weisselberg was expected to receive a five-month prison sentence, an unexpectedly favorable outcome for him.

What was to stop them from running multiple coups against Trump, the last one being successful? They could arrest, jail and or “doctor Trump to death” at their leisure. They own the DC and New York federal courts. They’ve shown there is a cadre of Emmit Sullivans out there. Roberts has been running the FISA Court dodge for six years now. What’s to stop them? I hope you’ve got an answer.

If the facts of this guy's case are as I remember reading them, then I'd offer a few insights here. As I remember it, the guy was given the free use of an apartment in one of Trump's buildings while he was working as the CFO of the Trump Organization.

1. The use of the apartment while he was working in NYC and had his primary residence somewhere else (the Hamptons, I think) was legitimate. It would be no different than the Trump Organization covering the cost of a hotel room while he was traveling on company business.

2. When he sold his house in the Hamptons and lived in the apartment on a full-time basis, the apartment effectively became his primary residence and he was obligated to report the rental value of the free apartment as "constructive income" on his tax returns. If he failed to do this, he was guilty of tax evasion, tax fraud, or something similar.

3. The Trump Organization had no obligation to pay any taxes for this apartment. They may have been obligated to report the cost of it to the IRS on a 1099 form, but if they didn't know anything about the guy selling his home on Long Island they'd have no way of knowing that the apartment was his primary residence subject to reporting on the CFO's tax return.

If any Freeper CPAs are out there, I'd be curious to hear your input on this.

Every time one of these clowns makes a “plea deal” more lies come out. Lies are flying everywhere. President Trump has also been accused of reading classified documents in one of Pence’s ladies rooms. Those maggots up in the swamp are doing more drugs than we give them credit for.

Ever since the FBI was a thing, they’ve had a dirty branch that spies on American Citizens, sets them up, gets them dirty, gets them to vote for things and look the other way at other things. Some even have done wet work. As bad as all of that has been, it’s never been as Stasi, as GESTAPO, As KGB as now. Watch ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, and even FOX, and they will all have former FBI department heads on right now telling everyone how bright and shiny clean all their agents are, and how dirty and evil Trump is.

This is just a slow motion version of where a third world leader comes into power and has their opponents rounded up and jailed within days.

Can anyone name me a country where that’s recently happened?

Can you say Color Revolution? sure you can.

I’m calling this our Purple Revolution.

Theres nothing to stop them. Once indicted in Federal Court you have a 95% chance of conviction. Trump has a 99.9% chance of conviction with a stacked jury or the typical Leftist judge. Hes going to prison.

“I do not believe in the jury system, the system of ‘justice’, the DOJ or the FBI.”

My experience as a jurist and, once, as a defendent in a civil case is that the jury system is an important barrier to overreach by law enforcement and prosecutors.

And how did Kahn know a Klingon proverb when he had never met a Klingon?

In the TOS episode “Space Seed”, after Kahn is revived from cryosleep, he’s invited by Kirk to read from the ship’s library during his convalescence. Being an augmented human, Kahn reads everything, which is how he then is able to take over the ship. The ship’s library no doubt included extensive info on Klingons as the Federation had already fought them during the Earth Klingon War.

Do you want every single criminal case in every single court in this country going to trial? You want our courts to be more clogged and backed up than they already are? That’s what you’re talking about.

That’s nuts. Trump’s not going to prison.

He’s insulated against state charges because he runs a large enterprise, making it extremely hard to pin a criminal charge on him without clear evidence (which doesn’t exist). In other words, there is no crime or smoking gun, no matter how much they want to get Trump.

Federal charges would be subject to review by higher courts, including the Supreme Court.

If the corruption gets bad enough to even detain President Trump, blood will flow in the streets like nothing before in this country. No democrat politician or appointee will have a life worth a plug nickel.

Arresting President Trump would be correctly understood by most to be an act of war. And it’s a war that the left will forever regret starting. They’ll lose.
