Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert had her mic cut on the House floor Friday as she blasted the Democrats' Inflation Reduction Act.
'You are sacrificing American families at the altar of climate change. You're using the power of the federal government for armed robbery,' Boebert insisted.
The $370 billion bill is expected to pass the House with only Democratic votes later Friday afternoon.
It includes a number of green energy and healthcare provisions and provides funding to bolster the workforce at the Internal Revenue Service.
The Colorado Republican argued that encouraging inflation data was evidence that the bill didn't need to be passed.
'Mr Speaker, isn't it so? Joe Biden himself said inflation rates is at 0 percent. So what the heck are we doing here? Why are we passing the so-called Inflation Reduction Act if it's at O percent,' Boebert said.
'The gentlewoman's time has expired,' the chair said, banging a gavel, interrupting the Colorado congresswoman.
Boebert continued to plow through her speech.
'And it does the exact opposite of what Americans need right now. This is just another con game by the Democrats calling something one thing and saying another. This is making the IRS - with armed agents - larger than the Pentagon, the State Department, the FBI,' she continued, shouting over the gavel and other members yelling.
Her mic was eventually cut.
The Republicans then gave her 30 additional seconds to finish up.
'This bill hires 87,000 new IRS agents and they are armed and the job description tells them that they need to be required to carry a firearm and expected to use deadly force if necessary,' she continued.

Disgusting!
Can 2024 be Trump/Boebert???
Had she used up.her allotted time?
If you are not politically connected, if you cannot prove you voted democrat reliably, and if you cannot pay your tax bill, there is a nice comfy camp awaiting you.
Sounds like one of those school board meetings where parents want to read aloud from a book that’s in the kids’ library, the content of which is too harsh/explicit for the public.
Leftists corrupt then ruin everything they touch.
They really are the Bubonic Plague to any society. A cancer we can’t seem to cut out.
CSPAN probably cut to America’s Got Talent rerun.
Never know when those gosh durn technical difficulties will surface.
Oh, Dem is speaking and microphone is working fine.
Operation climate change is a flower front to hide the real actions for complete power and control note how many other countries are using too.
How can you destroy a energy system and replace it with one that doesn’t exist yet climate change rules.
Karl Marx taps box
Or a nice plot...
Democrats can’t win on ideas. They have silence people. They have to cheat. They have to steal elections.
If I was an elected member of Congress, speaking on the floor, knowing my microphone could be cut off - I’d be bringing an electronic megaphone with me.
I will always recognize Lauren Boebert. She has more balls than 95% of the House “Republicans.”
That’s MY representative.
She’s the REAL deal!
The bottom line is that the states have never expressly constitutionally given the unconstitutionally big federal government the specific power to dictate, regulate, tax and spend in the name of Democratic politically correct global warming junk science or INTRAstate healthcare (Obamacare unconstitutional imo).
”State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress [emphases added]” —Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.
"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.
In fact, the congressional record shows that Rep. John Bingham, the main author of Section 1 of the 14th Amendment, had clarified that the delegates to the Constitutional Convention had left the care of the people uniquely to the states, not the feds.
”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)
The remedy for unconstitutionally big federal government oppressing everybody under its boots...
The states need to eliminate the unconstitutional middleman, the unconstitutionally big federal government, from “helping” the states to manage their revenues.
More specifically, Trump's red tsunami of patriot supporters need to start supporting their Trump-endorsed MAGA candidates for state lawmakers ASAP to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, and likewise unconstitutional interference in state affairs, by doing the following.
MAGA candidate state lawmakers need to lead ALL the states to effectively "secede" from the unconstitutionally big federal government by repealing the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular vote for federal senators) Amendments.
Once 16&17A are gone, unconstitutional federal taxes permanently stopped, each state will ultimately find a tsunami of new revenues (imo) that can be used to increase teacher salaries, also salaries of police and fire departments for starters.
Let's also include new state funding for infrastructure maintenance in that list. Undoubtedly many other state social spending programs as well to replace former unconstitutional federal spending programs.
In fact, Justice Louis Brandeis had seemingly reflected on Bingham's words (above) when Brandeis volunteered his "laboratories of democracy" metaphor to emphasized the power of the states to serve the people, ultimately depending on the kind of state social spending programs that the legal majority citizen voters of a given state want.
"[...] a single courageous State may, if its citizens choose, serve as a laboratory; and try novel social and economic experiments without risk to the rest of the country." —Justice Louis Brandeis, Laboratories of Democracy.
Corrections, insights welcome.
There is a lot of dysfunction in congress and the source is the democrat party.
It probably wouldn’t be too hard to rig up a wireless sound system, so if some Republican’s mike was cut off, they could pull a second WiFi mike out of their pocket and continue speaking, as one or two helpers with speakers in the gallery would point them at the House floor to deliver sound volume as great or greater than the cut off speakers.
It would kind of be a one shot deal, but funny.
Funny isn’t it how the left is so insecure they put fingers in their ears and scream”I CAN’T HEAR YOU NAH NAH NAH NAH” when a few facts that pop their utopian bubble are orated.
After all, no one can tell them maybe mother Gaia is just a fake goddess and all their pseudo-science is mere claptrap double hockey stick con jobs for financing people with agendas who want even their followers eventually dead when their usefulness has ended.
