My hometown. It has a lot more to offer now by way of entertainment and amenities than it did in the 70s and 80s BUT....the influx of Yankees and especially foreigners has made it different. Its more violent now than it was and the drivers who used to be nice and polite are now really aggressive jerks. Jax was a LOT more Southern when I grew up and was one of the only large cities that was reliably conservative. Unfortunately, that too is changing and not for the better. The city voted by a slight majority for Brandon. Sickening.

Actually I am in St Augustine but we frequent Jax for shopping and India restaurants. Yes I have heard there are some bad areas in JAX but surrounding areas still look good.
I love driving on A1A to shop at Trader Joe’s. Wish we had one of those in St Aug. Our county is St John’s and it has the highest average income of all counties in Florida and it shows in how nice it is here. They are building new subdivisions like crazy and traffic is getting worse every year. Big change from when we moved here in 2016.
