GOP Senate candidate won’t back Trump in 2024: ‘I hope he doesn’t run’

The Republican nominee for Senate in Colorado said on “The Ross Kaminsky Show” on Friday that he hopes neither President Biden nor former President Trump runs for president in 2024.

“As far as Trump’s concerned, I hope he doesn’t run,” Joe O’Dea said on the radio program. “I don’t want to see him as president.”

O’Dea continued: “I think a lot of people are ready to move our country forward. So I wouldn’t support him running again.”

The construction company executive sharply criticized Biden as well, calling him “the worst president we’ve ever had.”

Things RINOs say.
+++++
Indeed. I would be interested in what this RINO means when he talks about moving the country forward. Or I could just do a quick Marx Studies refresher course.

How typical of the Republican party in Colorado, they always manage to run swishy, moderate losers.

If you want the country to move forward quick then put Trump back where he should be now. They want someone in office to show improvement but still leave the same crooks in position to keep making money off taxpayers. These crooks need to get out and hope they aren’t investigated.

The importance of his statement directly correlates with the amount of money the left didn’t spend on trying to defeat him. There will be a D in the Senate seats in Colorado until mail in voting and Dominion machines aren’t found in Colorado.

You can call him what you want to. But a lot of the folks I know who voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 are saying they don’t want him to run. I

They're going to get what they deserve...good and hard!

Arrgghhh... He's a "reach across the aisle" Republican.

From his Ballotpedia Candidate Survey:

Who are you? Tell us about yourself.
Joseph (Joe) O’Dea (born January 20, 1962) is an American businessman in the construction industry, and candidate for United States Senator from Colorado. He is the CEO of a Denver-based heavy civil contracting company and O’Dea and his wife Celeste O’Dea are the owners of popular event venues near Mile High Stadium. One of the event centers, Ironworks, is a property that is more than 100 years old. It was originally occupied by Midwest Steel Company and produced frameworks for many of the buildings that can be seen in downtown Denver today. Joe and Celeste O’Dea have one adult daughter.

Please list below 3 key messages of your campaign. What are the main points you want voters to remember about your goals for your time in office?
  • Joe is running to defend working Americans, to be their voice in Washington.
  • Joe is running to stand-up to all the reckless spending – he will be a leader who is laser focused on reducing the debt.
  • Joe is running to keep America safe and secure. The honorable men and women who serve and protect deserve two things from us in return – they deserve our gratitude and they deserve our support.

What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
The ability to work across the aisle and to make tough or right decisions even if they might not be popular.

What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
Partisanship and political division is the number one threat to America and to our continued prosperity. I’ll be the kind of Senator who works with reasonable people on both sides of the aisle.

-PJ

O’Dea is a pro baby-killing RINO. I’ll sit that race out and let the Dems have it.
We had a great conservative candidate in the primary - but the GOPe state leadership worked behind the scenes to push O’Dea...even though he wouldn’t even appear at the state party convention.

I would just vote for the Dem, best way to send the message to RINOs that they are done.

“We need a younger man to run the USA.”

Yeah, someone like Adam Kinzinger or AOC. Both of them are younger. Yep, someone younger is a sure antidote to what ails us.

I guess this Colorado RINO is the designated loser for this November. I heard that there are openings on the Washington Generals, maybe he can get a job there as the ball boy, or the towel holder.

Disclaimer: this rant is not directed at you personally, Destroyer Sailor. Nor at anyone.

I agree that we need a far deeper bench of younger candidates that will work towards repairing the problems that beset us and making Anerica sound, stable, and great again. Governor De Santis is one among a very few that I think could do it.

I just hear too many ploiticians say “Trump shouldn’t run” without explanation. Trump wasn’t supposed to run and then he was supposed to lose right up to the very moment he won back in 2015-16. Now they want still want to turn their backs and absorb no lessons from a proven winner who did not campaign the way the establishment and tradition said he ought.

In 2020, some folks got their wish and Trump was replaced with Biden. The supposed “moderate” has been anything but and among the very worst of President in his eighteen months so far. Nearly every good thing Trunmp implemented has been undone. Republicans in the House and Senate are back to their shopworn lament of “If only we held the House...then the Senate...then the Oval Office. Then you’d see some change!”

When We the People gave the Republicans everything they wanted in 2016, the lesson was completely lost on most Republucans. Whom to this day continue to belittle and ignore all the good Trump did for everyone. They refuse to understand why he was popular and the things he did to win. They can be told nothing.

So I have little patience for politicians that say Trump should not run in 2024 and have nothing to offer by way of reasons nor ideas. They glow “establishment minion” who would likely turn assistant Democrat at the first opportunity.

Establishment-backed RINO (“first time candidate”) who knows that his comments against Trump will cost him votes....and doesn’t care. He’s there to make sure the Democrat wins; while at the same time attempting to peel voters away from Trump.

I’ll be the kind of Senator who works with reasonable people on both sides of the aisle.

From what I have seen that means they will work together with Democrats to empty the pockets of the average working American. More taxes, higher prices, forced purchases of more expensive insurance with less coverage, asset bubbles to help their rich friends get richer, laws and regulations that benefit big corporations and so on.

Amen!

Not only that, but many younger politicians don't have the ability to go up against the legal warfare launched by the Democrats and their DOJ and CIA allies. Does anyone think Ron DeSantis has the ability to withstand legal attacks that Donald Trump has?

We need Donald Trump version 2.0. The version that isn't so tolerant of shenanigans by the career executive branch employees, and the House and Senate RINOs.

The media and the GOPe have done a great job to the point that many people who supported Trump’s policies don’t want him to run again because they are so fatigued with “Trump, Trump, Trump”.

When you ask them why they allow the media or establishment to frame Trump or what did Trump do that offended you so much they talk about his negatives.

Outside of personality, they often cannot name a negative although I have heard some say that Trump pushed the vaccine and brags about the vaccines that people no longer trust.

I’m gonna guess that O’Dea loses.

Just a wild guess.
