Joe Manchin Once Again Slays Democrats' Big Spending Hopes

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) is again smashing the Democrats’ spending plans. He should just become a Republican at this point, right? He won’t. One of the last true moderate-to-conservative Democrats in Congress told Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer that he’s against any new spending package that increases taxes or has climate change provisions. That’s the ball game, folks. It’s a 50-50 Senate. Manchin’s opposition kills any chance of a massive spending package sailing through before the midterms. Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) has also been a terror regarding her party’s agenda. She’s also one that’s just as independent-minded as Manchin and doesn’t kiss the ring of Schumer. Both have given Chuck agita over their stances on some of the party’s big-ticket items.

With Manchin gone, the Democrats must regroup and figure out what to do next. The West Virginia Democrat grabbed his sickle and cloak. He’s become the grim reaper for Senate Democrats again:

Chuck & Nanzi are fuming because someone is standing in their way to continue the destruction of our country.

They can all go to hell!

He would not vote for the complete shutdown of the coal industry.

Well, probably better than what Romney or Cheney would have done.

As a West Virginian, using the word “Joe Manchin” in same sentence as “principles” or “integrity” reflexively causes me to break out in laughter.

I have been skeptical that through all of this, thinking that Manchin was just waiting for a big enough payoff to sell out, but time is getting short. In another few months Republicans will have control of at least the House, which will reduce Manchin’s leverage over Biden.

Maybe the Manchin family made enough money off of the destruction of local generic drug maker Mylan Pharmaceuticals, that he is thinking about legacy.

I won’t relax until we take over the House (and hopefully the Senate).

He’s a maverick!
He’s a free thinker!
He’s a rebel who loves his country!!!

Isn’t that what we were told when McCain did this and screwed Republicans over and over?

Another take, they’re the loyal opposition to the woke wing of the party so that democrats can wiggle out of association with the self-destructive left while pretending to be an mostly united ally.

But WV still needs to get rid of him at their next opportunity.

"Joe Manchin Once Again Slays Democrats' [unaccountable, unconstitutional, election year] Big Spending Hopes"

There! Fixed it.

And speaking of election year, Trump's red tsunami of patriot supporters are reminded that they must vote twice this election year. Your first vote is to primary career RINO incumbents in federal and state governments. Your second vote is to replace outgoing Democrats and RINOs with Trump-endorsed patriot candidates.

Insights welcome.

If he can keep posing as a sane Democrat, he will have the primary field to himself in 2024.

He should not become a Republican. We do not need another RINO in the Senate. West Virginia needs to elect an American First Republican.

Everyone has a price.
This election can be bought just like GA was for Warnock and Ossoff ($2000 stimulus checks again?)

Uh, it appears, these days, a lot of republicans are ME FIRST republicans. Once the check clears they may do something. But, not likely.
