Heard an interview with Coolidge book author Amity Shaes yesterday. She noted Coolidge was very honorable about his stewardship of the spending and taxation in office (he got the 70% rate down to 25% and the economy shot upward). During every one of the four years he balanced the budget as each one ended. This sounds like science fiction today.
