Not entirely surprising that blue states are chasing away a slow-growth low-profit and politically-incorrect sector. Nonetheless, it's a pretty big move for some businesses that have been in these locations since the Revolutionary War.

I always wondered why they stayed in the rank grass this long.

I was listening to my 2A podcast and Alan Gottlieb believed said a lot of anti gun laws are about to be nullified because of last week’s 2A decision. There’s precedent now. Strict scrutiny.

This could prove very positive. Most guns made will be made in pro-gun states...

Now if we could have aircraft made there as well...

My dad had a chemical business in the 70's-90's. Our main products were synthetic machining fluids. A huge part of our business was not just the firearms manufacturers but dozens of smaller machine shops all over New England and Long Island doing their subcontracting work. But hey, along with screwing petroleum industry workers out of their jobs in the name of going green exploiting cheap child labor overseas to supply EV battery makers with cobalt, let's put thousands of skilled machinists out of work in the name of ending gun violence. We must do this FOR THE CHILDREN!!

Move to Midwest Red States. Ramp up production. Embargo blue states and watch crime go up. Voters get mad at politicians, kick them out and want more guns.

Profit.

Departing is the first step. Cutting contracts with government and law enforcement in anti-gun states is the next. Let them buy their weapons from the Soviets.

(Weatherby)...Mead told the Casper, Wyoming, Star-Tribune that stricter gun laws in other states like California and Colorado have allowed Wyoming to “recruit some of these companies that may be not satisfied where they are.”

The Prescott AZ area has been trying hard to get Ruger to move their headquarters here. Ruger’s handguns are made here.

When the 'Gret Divorce' happens and our country balkanizes, most of the manufacturing (especially weapons manufacturing) will be in the south.

The South may yet rise again...

Just one of many:

In 2006, Bushmaster was purchased by Freedom Group, parent company of Remington, Marlin/H&R, DPMS, Para USA and Dakota Arms. In 2011, Bushmaster plant in Maine was closed and production moved to Remington facility in Ilion, New York and later to Huntsville, Alabama.

Some of those gun companies have seen rapid growth and quite healthy profits.

Why stay in a region that hates you and wants to kill your business? That’s in addition to the high taxes, massive amounts of red tape, etc.

Historically, the gun production was mostly located in the industrial Northeast.
But, they are not welcomed there now.
If your landlord harasses you, the best way is to move!

Smith and Wesson was one of the lead employers in Springfield MA. The state is letting them move their headquarters and a couple hundred manufacturing jobs without so much as a “please stay.”

And it’s not like there are a ton of other good paying blue collar jobs in town.

The city will turn into more of a dump. And it is difficult to imagine it being MORE of a dump.
