NRSC Chair Rick Scott told reporters this morning that he speaks often with Trump, assumes he is running in 2024. And he declined to commit to supporting McConnell for Majority Leader if GOP wins senate, saying there will be a leadership election.

Republican voters have an amazing proclivity for repeatedly electing losers, appeasers and backstabbers. By now you’d think that most voters would have figured out they should be more discriminating in who they vote for and stop being so easily misled.

After the gun control betrayal and their head long suicidal rush for amnesty I don’t think the GOP needs to worry about electing a senate majority leader, you don’t win control with ripples and backstabs.

First we take the house and senate in 2022 and THEN we divide the spoils. First Trump gets presidency in 2024 and THEN we support deSantis in 2028.

For all that Trump hates the democrats against him he has always admired that they stick together (implying Republicans don’t).

Hawley wants to be president. Every thought, every act, every action, every move on his part is motivated by that and nothing else. Make him leader and he'll work with Trump if it suits his ambitions.
Add to that he has zero leadership abilities and couldn't get three votes for the position to begin with.
He wants to be President ? So does every Senator.
Serious, unserious, the fact is you cannot overlook human relations, and even friendship in politics. That’s why all the Founders worked through caucuses, where they knew everyone.
In Cruz’s case, you cannot be an a-hole to everyone else and expect to lead. Only generals get to do that, and they ain’t elected.
These people today aren’t the Founders working things out. They’re the looters and the vultures picking over the corpse of what was left of a great Republic.

We’re more divided now than we were in 1860. Because at least then, both sides were basically Christian in outlook, with the difference being on the morality of slavery. And that was just one issue, not countless issues.
