They used an obscure Texas remembrance of the day Union soldiers told slaves in Texas that they had been free for 2 years to forever mark the mostly peaceful Burning Looting Mobs of St. George.
It celebrates the actions of the Republican President Abraham Lincoln, and his Emancipation Proclamation. June 19th marked the day in 1865 that the union soldiers entered Galveston, explained to the Black’s there that they were no longer slaves and that they were free.

He does have a point. The government is using its profound weight (think Jerry Nadler) and power (think out of control FBI, among others) to elevate this otherwise unimportant day to a great height to pander to black voters. And to remind them that they owe all they have to the federal government and that they are to be willing slaves on the liberal plantation for their master forever.
Keep in mind that the ACTUAL name of the holiday that the Dems created is called “Juneteenth: National Independence Day”. A few Republicans originally protested and wanted it named “National Freedom Day” but “Independence” was insisted upon, the MAIN reason in my opinion is that the Dems want to ABOLISH the 4th of July as the TRUE Independence Day. There is now talk about creating the only DOUBLE-holiday out of Juneteenth (2 full-days off) so that they can then justify REMOVING the 4th of July as a federal holiday, in line with getting rid of the Declaration of Independence and, ultimate, the Constitution. Look for most news commies to start the shift if we somehow lose the election this year.
There were some folks in Texas who were properly celebrating a Texas event and it should have remained a Texas event. It has no national significance. Slavery still remained legal in at least four states (Missouri, Kentucky, Maryland, and Delaware). The appropriate date for celebrating the end of slavery in the United States is the anniversary of the ratification of the 13th amendment. That is six months from now in December.

Precisely just what day is “Juneteenth”, is it the 13th or is it the 18th?
