Russia achieving success in Donbas, says British Ministry of Defence
BBC ^ | June 3, 2022 | Joseph Lee

Russia now appears to have the initiative over Ukraine in the battle for the Donbas, in the country's east, the UK's Ministry of Defence has said.

On the war's 100th day, the UK said Russia holds 90% of the Luhansk region - half of the Donbas - and is likely to complete control of it in two weeks.

It said these tactical successes had been achieved "at significant resource cost" with the concentration of forces.

On Thursday, Nato Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said Western nations must be prepared to support Ukraine over the long haul, as the conflict becomes a "war of attrition".

The Deep State loves war—the more expensive the better.

“It said these tactical successes had been achieved “at significant resource cost” with the concentration of forces.”

Yup. The Russian Naval Infantry (RNI) forces (vehicles marked with a ‘V’) have been subsumed into the Russian Army units that had been stationed in Belarus prior to the war (vehicles marked with an ‘O’).

The RNI was practically annihilated in the failed attempt to seize Kyiv and there wasn’t enough left of the force to justify retaining a separate designation. Add to this that the Ukies slaughtered most of the officer corps of the RNI and then it makes sense to use them as replacements for troops lost in the Donbass.

Now it’s up to the Ukrainians to take advantage of the Soviets concentrating their forces to reduce those forces with artillery and drones.

It’s going to be a long hot summer for the Orcs!

Wow, I missed the assault on and battle of Kiev

All I remember was Rus positioning armor columns around the key northern approaches like a siege…. Requiring the ukes to keep forces deployed to the north in defense…

but not really a siege, since food, medical supplies continued, the govt stayed in power, and the water lights cell phones and internet stayed on…while long range missiles took out a few military targets

Please post some links to the fierce battle for Kiev that decimated the Russians

So many lies. There are no Soviets, there are no Orcs (Unless the Ukes are Hobbits, or some other Harry Potter character your generation loves so much) And The Russians never attempted to take Kiev, and were not annihilated in that.

They moved a force up to about 20 miles and threatened Kiev. This threw the Ukes into a panic of attack from three directions so they could not concentrate forces in the east. At the point the LPR and DPR were well underway, that northern force pulled back. Nothing like an attack on Kiev, repelled by the disorganized Ukes ever happened.

“So many lies. There are no Soviets”

Tovarisch, that’s the first lie right there.

You deny there are any Soviets yet Putin himself has made clear that he wants to restore the USSR with Moscow as its capitol.

Soviet Russian forces in this war are openly and proudly using the Red Banner as their battle flag.

Those same forces all have the Hammer and Sickle badge on their hats, medals, uniforms, their barracks, and etc.

Soviet iconography still adorns government buildings in Soviet Russia. At least the Nazi iconography was removed all over Germany.

The national anthem of Soviet Russia is the same anthem as the USSR but with a few words changed.

And Oleg Mikhailov, member of the 8th Duma, proposed legislation this year to restore the Red Banner as the flag of Soviet Russia and to restore the State Anthem of the Soviet Union as the national anthem of Soviet Russia.

You guys are all so hot to get rid of the ‘Nazis’ in Ukraine, how about you get rid of the friggin’ Communists in your own country first?

In the meantime, Soviet Russia is a very real thing. Frankly, it’s much more real than the boogeyman of Ukrainian Nazis we’ve heard about.

This is basically the same territory that the Russians and Seperatists took back in 2014-16. They could not hold it then, I doubt they can hold it now.

That’s because a lot of people in the Donbas are Russians or of Russian descent and are Russian speakers. It was the aggression of the Ukrainians, particularly the Azov Brigade, against the Donbas that triggered this.

The corrupt Ukraine knew they had bought and sold Biden, and Zelensky...who has outlawed all political parties but his own...knew that the US wanted him to taunt Russia and attack the Donbas, so he did.

It’s like Wag the Dog...a photo op that got out of control because both the Dems and Zelensky thought it was going to benefit them.

There’s nothing serious about this “pre-war,” since there’s no dispute that could not be solved with negotiations, but the Ukrainians don’t want it. Or at any rate, Zelensky and Biden don’t want it, because this “war” is giving them enormous power and raking in the bucks.

There was nothing serious about WWI either, and it wiped out an entire generation and led to Hitler.

If Putin has made this clear, give us a link in Putin's own words.

Now shoo, run along. You have your assignment.

Or maybe they can just bury them under a snowstorm of dollar bills from the $40B in aid.

You can celebrate Ukraine Pervert Pride month, but they are having it out of town because their “glorious victory” over Russia has been temporarily delayed:

The military industrial complex has bills to pay—with inflation you know...

We need wars on as many fronts as possible to make that happen.

:-(
