Three cadets set to graduate from the U.S. Air Force Academy who have refused the COVID-19 vaccine will not be commissioned as military officers, the academy said Saturday. The cadets will still earn their bachelors degrees, according to the academy.
Academy spokesman Dean Miller said that a fourth cadet who had refused the vaccine until about a week ago decided to get vaccinated and will graduate and become an Air Force officer.
In a statement, Miller said that while the other three will receive their degrees, "they will not be commissioned into the United States Air Force as long as they remain unvaccinated." He added that a decision on whether to require the three to reimburse the United States for education costs in lieu of service will be made by the secretary of the Air Force.

Reimburse? Hell no. Consider it one of those ‘forgiven’ student loans, AF. The three will be better off without the AF AFAIC, especially in today’s world.

I know a number of people who fought taking the covid vax, but eventually caved because they didn’t want to lose their job, school enrollment, whatever. It’s very sad. I don’t want to judge too much, as we all make our choices. And if they think their backs are against the wall and it’s down to a choice between the vax and feeding their families etc, I get it to some extent. But it really is sad to see such a stark demonstration of human weakness, i.e., giving and doing something that they know is wrong/stupid/risky/dangerous.
Well at least Brandon won’t be their boss.
Three courageous cadets will be FAR BETTER OFF not becoming enslaved to a military leadership that can no longer be trusted.
I salute the great courage of these cadets. They are the kind of leaders America REALLY needs.
I urge an all-out legal battle against the United States government if they try to force these cadets to “repay” for their college education.

They get admitted to the Academy before the vaccine even exists, then it becomes a requirement, they lose their commission AND pay for the “free” education? I don’t think so.
I spent 20 years in the Air Force, but I retired before anyone even knew what woke meant. It’s definitely woke now.
Surely, we accept for lethal disease or to travel to areas with diseases that some vaccines are needed.
Well, the differences between the covid-19 vaxxes and say, MMR and pertussis, are multiple. The latter have a long record of safe use. The former are minimally-tested, experimental mRNA concoctions with burgeoning reports of adverse effects. Also, for a young healthy person, covid-19 is just a cold while whooping cough, measles etc. are much rougher illnesses.

I don’t know if this is true, but I have heard from people in the military that the Air Force is the wokest of all the military branches.
