Dow is on pace for longest weekly losing streak since 1923

If the Dow finishes down for the week, which it is solidly on pace to do, it would be its eighth-straight weekly loss. That would be the longest weekly losing streak since 1923, according to FactSet data reviewed by LPL Financial.
The long stretch of losses underscores the negative mood on Wall Street as investors grow nervous about high inflation – and what the Federal Reserve will have to do to get prices under control.

How many years have we heard the crap about Herbert Hoover Causing-the 1929 stock market crash? It’s happening all over again. From what I understand the big guy does not own any stock. He invested all his money in real estate and his son and siblings.

Players have moved in late on Friday to make sure the market doesn’t close on a down note for the week. That way, media can report “the Dow closed up on Friday reversing the previous down market”, etc. They don’t have to report anything other than that to give the impression that the market closed up for the week.

Go look at the graph for the DOW and tell me that wasn’t a deliberate Friday afternoon ploy. The market had been down all day until it started moving up around 3:30. I do not see any amazing news that would have caused the sudden reverse course.
