The final Emerson College Poll of very likely Republican primary voters found the Trump-endorsed candidates with plurality support in their respective elections for U.S. Senate and Governor. In the primary race for US Senate, Mehmet Oz holds 28% support, followed by Kathy Barnette with 24%, and David McCormick with 21%. Fifteen percent (15%) are undecided, and were asked a follow-up question on who they are leaning towards. With their support allocated, Oz increases his support to 32%, followed by Barnette with 27%, and McCormick with 26%.

Emerson has been unreliable as Fox News Polls.

Susquehanna has been more accurate.

I talked with a retired Air Force Intelligence officer who spent his years of his career in Turkey. He said there is a LOT of things going on under the radar, and we should NOT keep our eyes off of Turkey. I don’t trust a candidate with double National identity.

Headline says 5%, story says 4%.

Seems unreliable on its face.

Why lie? Emerson poll was taken 5/14-5/15; Susquehanna poll 5/12-5/15.

Even RCP, which arranges polls by date, has Emerson as the most recent.

At least PA knows about Oz being Turkish.
Texans had no idea Ted Cruz was Canadian when they elected him.

Like the recent Susquehanna poll that has Harris leading Trump by 3 and Biden leading Trump by 2 for 2024?

Q11. If the general election for President were being held today and the choices were Donald Trump, the Republicancandidate, and Joe Biden, the Democrat candidate, for whom would you vote? (ROTATE NAMES)1. Trump/Republican 371 46%2. Biden/Democrat 387 48%3. Other (Do Not Read) 19 02%4. Not Sure 23 03%

Q12. If the general election for President were being held today and the choices were Donald Trump, the Republicancandidate, and Kamala Harris, the Democrat candidate, for whom would you vote? (ROTATE NAMES)1. Trump/Republican 366 46%2. Harris/Democrat 389 49%3. Other (Do Not Read) 29 04%4. Not Sure 16 02%

This poll isn’t believable on its face...

Idea that OZ who hasn’t move the needle all race suddenly has gained 7 points, when the only person who’s shown any momentum in months gained 4 the same as McCormick?? Who also hasn’t moved the needle in months? not believable.

Don’t believe any poll that shows OZ outpacing anyone let alone nearly 2 to 1..

Oz does not need to do anything.
He has president Trump’s endorsement.
That means 99% chance of success based on recent endorsements by the MAGA king.

Thanks for posting this. The comments on this thread are missing a couple of key points. Both the Emerson and Susquehanna polls are very close and well within the overall margin of error. Both polls have large undecided respondents. This race will be decided today and we won’t know the answer until the votes are counted, or maybe never considering that this is Pennsylvania. The good news that Democrats can’t vote in the Republican primary.

Oz should be running away with it, endorsed by Trump, well known, well qualified, sophisticated in the public square. Barnette is a rookie and it shows. She and her team have made some some own goals mistakes. She can win in spite of her errors and her weaknesses as a candidate. If I had to guess, and I will, my best guess is that she will win because Republican voters don’t trust OZ and don’t want another Republican Establishment Senator. Had she not been able to repair the doubts about her military service, she could not win, but she got beyond it.

“The good news that Democrats can’t vote in the Republican primary.”

They can and they will.

There’s really no such thing as a “closed” primary. All Democrats need to do is to switch parties (temporarily) and bingo! They get to vote as “Republicans” in the primary and try to sabotage the candidates who stand the best chance of winning in November so they’ll vote for Oz — tomorrow. But not in November.

The only difference between a supposedly closed primary state like PA and an open primary like so many other states have, is that you have to put a *little* more effort into switching.

It is interesting that it now has been confirmed Barnette was marching in the vicinity of the Proud Boys. What is interesting to me is that it seems some random person on Twitter found it.

I suspect that is part of the Dem oppo research but they were hoping to pull it out later

Yes, they can change party, but that applies to all contests, not just the Senate race. In addition, there are four candidates in the Democrat Senate primary, one of who just had a stroke.

I doubt that the crossover vote will amount to much. Crossover is more often seen when one party has only one candidate. However, a more important question is which way would Democrats vote if they voted in the Republican primary?
