U.S. Spooks Can't Keep Their Mouths Shut About Helping Ukraine Kill Russians
PJ Media ^ | 05/08/2022 | Rick Moran

U.S. intelligence agencies are deeply concerned about a steady flow of leaks pointing to extensive assistance by the United States, helping Ukraine score some of its biggest victories of the war.

On Thursday, several news outlets reported on assistance by U.S. intelligence agencies giving the Ukrainian military information on Russian units that have allowed Ukrainians to target and kill many of the Russian generals who have died in the war. Moscow has acknowledged at least 12 general officers were killed — more generals than died in World War II.

Then on Friday, some blabbermouth told the Washington Post that the U.S. gave information to the Ukrainians that allowed them to sink the Moskva — the flagship of the Russian Black Sea fleet. The Biden administration is denying that such assistance was given — at least in every instance. But more worrisome than the deliberate provocation of killing high-ranking Russian general officers is the stupidity that someone is bragging about it.

“It’s stupid, it’s unnecessary. There’s no upside, only downside,” a European official told Politico. “It looks like the Americans are trying to take credit for what the Ukrainians are doing.”

Speculation abounded across the Washington, D.C., natsec and intel communities that the administration was intentionally rubbing salt in the Kremlin’s wound. Turns out none of this is a coordinated leak by President Joe Biden’s team: “Someone is eager to take credit, but it’s not helpful,” a U.S. official told NatSec Daily. Others we spoke to revealed there’s an internal freakout over the stream of stories, though it’s unclear exactly who is feeding reporters the juicy nuggets.

Instead of boasting, a parade of administration officials have denied the direct link between the shared intelligence and targets, saying that U.S. military and intel assets merely tell Kyiv where the Russians are

Modernized—here is one 2017 article about it:

Maybe a couple. Most have deteriorated. The Soviet Union fell apart 30 years ago. So how many of them have they maintained?

“So how many of them have they maintained?”

4,219.

Yeah, like anyone knows the answer to that question.

;-)

Here is some Congressional testimony that touches briefly on the topic:

The bottom line is that Russia takes civil defense for civilians seriously—as a part of its nuclear strategy.

The US does not.

It is active participation in a foreign war without benefit of Congress or WRITTEN Presidential approval is what it is.

Moscow has acknowledged at least 12 general officers were killed

Unless announced today, the Orcs have only announced one general killed.

Yes, everything that you said is true.

At a point, Vlad just says "Screw this", boards his helicopter and heads for the Russian Cheyenne Mountain, where he's gonna mash the button.

And then when the fallout settles we can look at each other and say "See, he really was nuts."

The Russians have planned for the fact that some of their nuclear weapons may not function as planned.
That’s why they have 6000.
If the first one or two don’t work, the third or fourth one will still get the job done.

“They fought one of the most brutal campaigns in the history of warfare, and prevailed.”

Only because the United States propped their country up with our technology, resources, and manufacturing so they could keep fighting. Otherwise they would have been overrun.

“We’re the closest right now to a nuclear war as we have ever been during my lifetime (53 years).”

Not really, since the Russians actually issued an order to launch their weapons (by mistake) in 1983. We are nowhere near that point right now. Not by a longshot.

I’m appalled by it. Apparently the Dems have to tell everyone what we are doing as a follow on to Obama’s 2012 message for Putin “ ‘After My Election, I’ll Have More Flexibility’.”

And Obama’s people are back in the government and telling Biden what to do and say.

No doubt that the US provided a tremendous amount of support to the USSR during WWII. Studebaker trucks and Jeeps became a large component of the Russian arsenal. Grain and Spam were on their table. But the one thing we didn't provide were bodies. for every American killed in WWII, 65 Russians were killed. Death touched every Russian family in WWII. Russia does not want war on that scale again. No one but the Deep State does.

Thank the late? Prof. Leon Goure of the University of Florida for exposing the Soviet’s massive CD program in the 1970s. The U.S. Govt tried to silence him but failed.

Leon is one of America’s “Cold War” heroes. He was a professor of mine at his special seminar on Strategic and International Affairs in the mid-70s.

Don’t forget that Russia/SU also invaded Poland, Norway and Finland on their own, incurring severe casualties there.

The U.S. gave Russia about 8,000 railroad engines and boxcars/flatbed cars during WW2 as well as hundreds if not thousands of aircraft including the P39 Aircobras.

Some powerful people really want war.

Because economics don't matter during war. It's the only way to salvage any chance in NOV.

You are absolutely right. Russia Stalin had dirty hands, flithy dirty cac covered hands. He gave us no help against Japan until after the atom bomb.

But ordinary Russians were no more like Stalin than ordinary Americans are like Obama. Even though I know the facts, I think of my county, and can't image it being ravaged as Europe and Russia were during WWII.
