So the left is now pushing big companies to not advertise on Twitter unless Twitter promises to basically cow tow to their "demands" which include not letting "hate speech" (which as we all know is anything the left disagrees with) or "banned users" return.

I suspect Musk doesn't care one iota whether companies like Disney, Coca-Cola, etc don't advertise on Twitter and will tell those insisting on their little "demands" to pound sand, but guess we will see..

Boycotts often boomerang.

This is phrased rather sinister, but it’s standard fare.

For an advertiser to advertise on a platform they want the platform to represent them in a way that appeals to their customers.

Ruger will never advertise on MSNBC and Nike will never advertise on Infowars.

I’m not surprised by this at all. But I would like EVERYONE to re-evaluate their position on Musk’s Tesla brand.

Did you know that Tesla will retaliate against youtubers who say negative things about the car ?

Look it up on youtube.

One fortune 500 CEO’s opposition to “hate speech” is hate speech toward everyone else.

He can advertise Tesla, Spacex...etc etc...and might just NOT allow Disney and Coke to advertise. Do they really think Musk needs them??

If Must were to limit hate speech and election misinformation, then, Twitter would be banning CNN and MSNBC and most liberal media and most democrat senators and democrat house members.

Democrats have long lost the ability to know the truth about anything, and what they deem as hate speech and disinformation, is mostly coming from them.

Democrats can’t recognize the truth anymore, not even when it hits them squarely between their eyes. But, I believe that it’s a lot worse than that, and what they really want is to brainwash all Americans with their lies and half=truths and ‘disinformation’.

If it is not in the contract and he doesn’t want to do it they can go somewhere else. Maybe Trump can help them out?

I suspect that there is nothing wrong with the Twitter moderation algorithm. The problem is the people, like Vijaya Gadde, who put their thumbs on the scale against people and politics that they don’t like, then blame it on the algorithm. All Elon has to do is to make sure that a fair algorithm is used transparently.

Musk is a VERY independent-minded person who has taken on the entire auto industry as well as the SEC (through its office in SF).

He wouldn't be fazed by the demands of companies pushing him to stifle free speech at Twitter.

In fact, he would most likely relish the fight.

How stupid are these people? Must doesn’t care about ads, he may just decide to make Twitter a subscription site with a very low rate, or have The woke corporations replaced by corporations that adhere to American values.

Let’s see if those companies double down. I suspect Disney might, Coke and Kraft, not so much. Doesn’t matter. All 3 will foul their own nest by supporting the actual anti-free speech and disinformation movement of the socialists/commies. Musk will continue on...

Why does Coca-Cola keep doing this stuff? Surely they realize that their product is entirely unnecessary for human functioning, meaning if people got serious about boycotting these woke corporate scum, they’ll be one of the ones losing the most.

I could see current Twitter management signing contracts with companies agreeing to do so, against the interests of the new owner.

Companies like Coca-Cola (CCEP), Disney (DIS) and Kraft (KHC) need to issue simple statements saying, “After due consideration and consultation with our shareholders, we have decided to leave the political arena and concentrate solely on our products and services.”

How difficult would that be?

I already dropped Woca Cola and Disney. Don’t make me drop you too Kraft. Leftists are not the only ones who can boycott a brand.
