Supreme Court ‘Draft’ Decision on Roe v. Wade LEAKED – Fingers Quickly Point at Potential Culprit

The U.S. Supreme Court is apparently planning to vote to END Roe v Wade in a DRAFT OPINION by Justice Samuel Alito — leaked to Politico this evening.

The draft opinion was leaked to the press – something that is almost unprecedented.

Developing………
The Daily Mail reported:

The Supreme Court is planning to vote to strike down the decision of Roe v. Wade, long considered a vanguard of guaranteeing a right to an abortion in the United States.

The opinion draft – originally obtained by Politico – was written by Justice Samuel Alito, one of the six justices appointed by Republican presidents on the nine-member court, repudiating both Roe and the 1992 Planned Parenthood vs. Casey decision.

‘Roe was egregiously wrong from the start,’ Alito writes. ‘We hold that Roe and Casey must be overruled,’ he continues in the document, titled ‘Opinion of the Court.’

‘It is time to heed the Constitution and return the issue of abortion to the people’s elected representatives.’

Politico noted that this is the first such case in modern history of a Supreme Court draft decision being leaked to the public while the case was still pending.

It is unclear which justice would support such a move, which would typically be released at term's end -- by June.

But the fact that the planned decision was LEAKED -- which is considered a criminal act -- is almost as big a story as the decision, and it has shocked Court experts.

Influential site SCOTUSblog expressed the sentiment bluntly:

And it didn't take long for fingers to point at the most far-left justice on the Court: Sonia Sotomayor.

Alito will not brook with fools. SCOTUSBlog is exactly right. This will fissure the Court, and Sotomayor should be impeached, or forced to resign in disgrace like Abe Fortas.

And if the GOP had the tenacity of the Left, it would simply be blind accusations that she has taken money or similar unethical behavious.

THIS CANNOT PASS.

It’s long been the goal of the left to destroy all of the institutions in this country to protect our democratic republic. The damage this leak does to the Supreme Court is devastating. But then, the goal is to break the SC to the will of the leftist mob. I would imagine that Justice Alito is already getting death threats.

YES!!!!
As I have said from the start, this is a 10th amendment issue, and needs to be left to the states.

My guess is that in short order, we will have sodom (new york) and gommorah (california) with a stop over in illinois.

Major victory for those against abortion, and those for states rights.

Hooray

Liberals crying and moaning over Justices being asked if Roe was “settled law” in their confirmation hearings...

Well...

These Justices’s opinion on Roe v. Wade have obviously “evolved” since taking office... After all, The Clintons “evolved” on their postilion about Gay Marriage, from once supporting DOMA.

Nothing to see here...

Perhaps someone started searching for “right to abortion” in the Constitution and could not find it?

The complete draft opinion, if it is legitimate, is available at Politico.

I read through much of it and, if legitimate, it is encouraging. It completely abrogates Roe v. Wade and Casey, and returns the issue to the states.

If this had been done in 1972, and the issue had been debated at the state level, we would have been a better, more united country. Some states would have undoubtedly passed more strict regulation of abortion and some states would have legalized it in more instances, but some broad consensus would have emerged through the political process. There would have almost certainly have been fewer than 63M abortions in the past 50 years.

If this is really an accurate draft, it is encouraging. It is not a half-measure that says 15 weeks is ok, but we’d have to go back and review anything that said 14 weeks. It overturns the whole illegitimate mess of judicial regulations.

If this holds, it will undoubtedly be much harder to arrive at a consensus now, after 50 years of rancorous but futile debate, but the process of arriving at a consensus will start anew.

“If a Supreme Court justice leaks a decision, is that impeachable?”

Impeachable, WTF? It’s an attack on our Democracy! The very fact it was done from inside the government means it’s insurrection! Betrayal inside the highest court in the land. This is far beyond the remedy of impeachment. The sanctity of the court must be restored! Consequences are more in the realm of life in prison or execution. The Republic is under direct assault from within.

She did get oathed in...and the notice of it, all of a sudden, went down the rabbit hole. Can’t find it anywhere. I should have saved it. So I can’t prove it.

“Yet another Democrat created crisis in an effort to turn around the 2022 election.”

Use some logic: The court would have released the opinion in the ordinary course by the end of June well in advance of the elections, and therefore a leak was unnecessary.

This smells like the Deep State, which leads me to believe that Roberts leaked the opinion in the hopes that another “conservative” can be coerced into switching sides and voting to uphold abortion.
