Reputed federal informant, whistleblower found dead in L.A. after he's reported missing

A reputed federal informant and whistleblower who went missing after reportedly turning over a trove of secret files about Deutsche Bank was found dead at a Los Angeles school earlier this week, a police official said Wednesday.

The body of Valentin Broeksmit, 46, was found Monday at Woodrow Wilson High School shortly before 7 a.m., Sgt. Rudy Perez of the Los Angeles School Police Department said in email.

Records with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner do not list a cause of death. Los Angeles Police Department Capt. Kenneth Cabrera told the Los Angeles Times that authorities do not suspect foul play.

Broeksmit was last seen driving a red Mini Cooper on the afternoon of April 6, 2021, on Riverside Drive and was later reported missing by relatives, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

His vehicle was found, the department said, but Broeksmit remained missing.

Perez said Wednesday that he appeared to be homeless.

According to a 2019 profile in the New York Times, Broeksmit was a musician and son of a Deutsche Bank executive who died by suicide in 2014.

After his father's death, Broeksmit gained access to his father's email account and found hundreds of files related to the bank, including board meeting minutes, financial plans, spreadsheets and password-protected presentations, the newspaper reported.

Federal and state authorities were scrutinizing allegations of criminal misconduct and the bank's long relationship with former President Donald Trump, the newspaper reported.

According to the Times, Broeksmit supplied the documents to journalists and others, including Fusion GPS, the research firm linked to an unverified dossier about Trump, and investigators with the FBI's New York office.

After meeting with FBI agents in Los Angeles, the agency permitted Broeksmit to publicly identify himself as a cooperating witness in a federal criminal investigation, the paper reported.

"Los Angeles Police Department Capt. Kenneth Cabrera told the Los Angeles Times that authorities do not suspect foul play."

Of course they don't.

And won't.

Another witch hunt. Maybe the Clinton’s and others dealt with the bank also.

WTH is this whole story about?

The times are screwy, the narrative is unreadable.

And I have no idea about whom this is.

I am really stupid or just don’t care enough to figure it out.

I don’t know what it’s about. Sounds like a murder mystery wrapped in a conspiracy fraught with corruption, particularly with Fusion GPS involved.

I was hoping someone would lend insights.

He was a whistle-blower who got his father’s info off his computer, father committed suicide in 2014 and was an executive with DB abd the info apparently incriminate the whole Clinton Russiagate cabal. He was a drug addict si they are passing it off as that but he was murdered after hiding for a year after giving the info to the Feds. Sounds like Arkancude.

Most large banks are accustomed to paying such fines for roguish behavior as the cost of doing business. Behind the scenes there tends to be tacit approval based on obscure arrangements with intel agencies, while the bank balances the relatively small fines against the profits and fees made by helping bad actors violate sanctions.

Was it Arkancide or ...was it the FEDs.

Maybe they are not mutually exclusive.

viv, I still find it hard to follow, but thanks so much for your summation.

I wonder how many people not named Trump have significant relationships with Deutschland Bank. I suppose that’s not headline worthy.

I doubt we'll ever know. Deutsche Bank has had a shady reputation for years and their client list has a lot of people who would rather remain in the shadows.
