If someone has to be FORCED to fight for and defend their hearth and home and family, then they don’t deserve any of them. Better to let them flee as the cowards they are, because they could never be trusted. But, I’m old school.
Also, Ukraine is deeply divided. there are many people in Eastern Ukraine who prefer to live under Russian control. The militias of Lukansk and the Donbas (as well as Crimea) number in the many tens of thousands and have been battling Kiev since the Maidan Coup. 14,000 people in Eastern Ukraine have died at the hands of the Kiev government. And of course, our own US Government is contributing to the conflict.
So the simplistic MSM narrative of madman Putin vs. saint Zelensky is a very childish and the cheapest form of propaganda.
A lot of that sentiment goes out the window when you live in an urban center where “home and hearth” are a multi-story tenement, you have no connection with transient neighbors, and “family” is a group of highly dysfunctional wards of the state.
