Andrey Igorevich Melnichenko's 470-foot Sailing Yacht A—believed to be the world's biggest—has been sequestered at the northern port of Trieste, the Italian prime minister's office said.

Industrialist Melnichenko, who owns the fertilizer producer EuroChem Group and coal company SUEK, is among several prominent Russian oligarchs sanctioned by the EU since the start of the Ukraine War. He is worth around $11 billion according to Forbes.

This sounds like just the right thing to do. Seize the property of enemies of the state. No need for rule of law. Just do it.....

...... Oh wait, this idea isn’t working out so great for us is it.

when are we going to see the property of the American Oligarchs being seized for all the damage they have inflicted upon our country and in other countries?

We could start by seizing the assets of:

The Biden Crime Family
The Clinton Crime Family
Mark Zuckerberg
George Soros
The Sakler family

just the tip of the really disgusting iceberg.

That was already clear when banks and web platforms started targeting conservatives; we should be very concerned by this extension of the same MO.

This isn’t about Russian aggression. It’s about making sure the folks don’t EVER forget that the State is Supreme, and that nothing counts but the State.
Mussolini is dead, but his ideas march on.

I stumbled across a bunch of videos about super yachts and conversion expedition yachts. The new yacht record is over 600 feet.

The demand for a bigger and bigger yachts ever more elaborate with more and more “toys” such as submarines to go along with them is high. There are an amazing number of the things.

Meanwhile, the rest of us worry about inflation and if there will be enough food and fuel.

That kind of disparity between the 1% and the rest is not success, it is greed. You can’t defend it. Making that much money is done by paying the workers too little or charging too much.

Exactly, if you fail to pay property taxes they take your property.

Being done to us daily by the dems. Little different scheme though. They just spend money they don’t have with our signature on the bottom line to pay the loan.

Since the little people in Russia don’t have anything they have to steal from the rich ones.

One of the weird things is these yachts, while sailable, are unsaleable. The market for 500 million dollar boats is thin. There’s only a few people on the planet who have disposable assets of that magnitude, and it seems like a lot of them are Russian for some reason. So the money that will actually go back to the people of Ukraine for selling these things in the market will be far lower than the asset values being referenced.

These yachts may also help explain why Russia’s military has proven so inept. So much money was siphoned off by Putin’s corrupt cronies for yacht purchases.

“The Sakler family”

Slightly off topic, but you probably heard about the billions in settlements they were hit with this week.

The new media seemed oblivious when they reported that the funds weren’t going to the victims... no, they proudly proclaimed, it was going the STATES to piss away. So, the victims and their families get nothing.

Almost as if they viewed it as really their fault in the first place, for being in pain.

Bezos 168 billon, Buffett 116 billon, Brin 110 billon, Page 108. Billon, Zuckerberg 68 billion, Bezos ex wife 47 billion. This Russian “oligarch” ... 11 billion.
Ours are called entrepreneurs... theirs are oligarchs. I guess it must be because theirs have outsized power over their society and government or something.

In the case of the Russian oligarchs, they have in effect individual license to extract a tax on the natural resources of the country. All of them deal in extractive industries like oil or gas. They were just given a valuable income stream in exchange for their cooperation in backing the national leadership and channeling funds to whomever the leadership directs.

Its sort of like a patent of nobility. An aristocrat receives a grant of land from the monarch, in exchange for his support.
