One hundred women have graduated from the U.S. Army’s esteemed Ranger School as of Friday, Task & Purpose has learned.

“The Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade confirmed that the 100th woman graduated the course with Ranger Class 03-22,” said Col. Antwan L. Dunmyer, Commander of the Airborne and Ranger Training Brigade at Fort Benning, Georgia. “She was the only woman to graduate with that class.”.....

The first women graduated Ranger School in August 2015, and since then women have continued breaking barriers. Capt. Kristen Griest, one of the very first women to earn the Ranger tab, became the first female infantry officer in the Army. Another one of the first 10 women to graduate Ranger School, Capt. Shaina Coss, became the first woman to lead Rangers in combat.

Mixing young men and women together in a dangerous environment.

Not to take away anything from the female but it can induce risks.
Female pilots don’t increase any risks like ground combat does.

It isn’t just strength but temperament. Look at the 1990’s and the first gulf war. Half the women decided to get pregnant or obtain other outs and did not deploy. Women also tended to do desk duties so men had no place to go when injured.

Bottom line: Women do not pull their weight in combat positions.

“while women could fight”

I heard one major issue was that when Arab’s found out they were losing to women they would fight to the last man rather than surrender.

I might agree that they don’t introduce any risks in the same way or impact that ground combat would.

Interesting perspective. Never gave that much thought...

Right.

Given the toxic gender wars of the last decades, I have no opposition to putting females in any combat roles; the last war we won was decades before I was born, and nobody even expects a real “victory” in any sense anymore when we send Americans to die overseas - just facilitated business afterwards. If countries and companies want 50% female participation in government and on boards, then by all means let them do 50% of the work - and incur 50% of the casualties. In a post-Judeo-Christian culture where breeding has dropped off sharply, why protect them? If they want the trappings of participation, they can have the risks, too.

Honestly I don’t know how the Arabs would know they were losing to women, and in actual hand-to-hand combat I don’t know how many (on either side) viewed surrender as an option.

I agree. Testosterone (not just the presence of estrogen or even a decreased level or relative lack of it) makes the difference.

It is the biological difference between a placid cow and a belligerent bull.

And anyone who has ever seen a belligerent, muscle bound bull full of testosterone and anger, with beady smoldering eyes eyes that are fixated on what it sees as a threat (you!) knows what I am talking about.

Thanks for the link and the extracted chart. The chart really captures the central issue with an easily-understood graphical depiction of reality.

In June of 74 the first few official female paratroopers were trained... for just a mere handful of soldiers, there were nearly a one-to-one Blackhat ratio. Aside from getting just the basics, and none of the harrassment , it was harder to get the women up to physical demands required of the men. The solution was to separate the sexes.

Ranger School and Airborne School always had a few quirks associated with it. Active duty soldiers usually went to the non-Summer months if they requested this training and it was approved. Winter Rangers like White Thread. Summer ROTC/West Point students took their 5-Jump Chump and Tab training in Summer with large blocs of just their own group.

In order to wear those badges of honor an entire career, inagine letting college kids get the badge at a Q-course and they wear it for life. The one thing I noticed in the Army was there were too many officers without Jumpmaster Star - myself I would have just not worn those wings if I only had 5 jumps and was say a first sergeant or sergeant major, or above the grade of Captian.

When I see a soldier of any grade with Jumpmaster wings, you or they have my immediate respect and admiration - it takes a bit more than just reciting the Gettysburg Address flawlessly. The one exception was the DIA puke wearing a 06d Colonel Army uniform with his 5 Jump Wings on his pocket and his Junpmaster Wings where they belonged.... I paused the elevator, appologized to the DAO, removed the “colonel’s chump jump wings under both’s protest and then accompanied them to the DAO to pull up AR670-1. Those who think they look cool blow their “cover” instantly with wanton acts of stolen bravery.

I wonder if bravery and integrity mean anything.

Myself, I identify as a Master Parachutist.

That won’t work in the Marines. In a pinch, everyone is a rifleman. Clerks, network technicians, cooks, truck drivers.

There are only two genders male and female.

Anyone who says they are other or want to be other are psycho

When was the last time every Marine was used as a rifleman?
Not trained as one, but used.
“Rifleman” also is not MARSOC.
