This has never happened in Russia before!

We continue to understand the situation unfolding in the Kursk region without haste or panic. On August 6, Ukrainian troops broke through the border and have been moving forward for three days in a row, capturing our settlements.

We have previously partially reported on the reasons for the major successes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. In short, this includes the failure of the Russian Armed Forces to prepare, new tactics by the enemy , and the authorities’ unwillingness to make decisions quickly and effectively on the ground.

And now, something that no one is talking about. For the first time since the start of the Second Military Operation, Russian aviation has been forced to drop bombs on our own cities. This has happened before in the Belgorod and other regions, but then we were talking about tragic accidents associated with missiles and bombs “falling short” of Ukrainian territory. Now, in order to contain the Ukrainian Armed Forces, they have to bomb the Kursk region as well. This is a forced measure and has been agreed upon at the highest level.

And the second point, which is still completely unclear. In early September, on the Single Voting Day, elections for the governor of the Kursk region are scheduled. The acting governor, Alexey Smirnov, was considered the main contender for victory. He is now the main media figure in the region. But what if Russian troops fail to drive the enemy beyond the state border by the time of the elections? What if the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to advance? How to hold elections? Never in the history of modern Russia have we had to hold elections in a territory that we do not control (elections in new regions are a separate story). Should an election campaign be held in the region, and if so, how?

Neither the Kursk region authorities nor the Kremlin's political bloc have answers to these questions yet. Everyone is pinning their hopes on the army, whose leadership, alas, cannot come to its senses and start making decisions quickly. Meanwhile, it is known that the Ukrainians are already building fortifications in the captured territories. Rumor has it that the elections in the Kursk region may be postponed for a year, and Smirnov will remain as acting governor for now. Vladimir Putin likes his reports. But our interlocutors do not rule out that the “favorite of the Presidential Administration” and Starovoit’s protégé may lose the Kremlin's favor and someone else will be appointed to lead the problematic region.

Armiia+ app for military launched in Ukraine: its first function is electronic reporting

Ukraine has launched Armiia+ (Army+), a mobile app that soldiers can use to send electronic reports to their commanders. The purpose of the app, Zelenskyy noted, is to relieve the Ukrainian army of paperwork so that commanders and soldiers are not wasting their time on “obsolete and useless bureaucracy”.

Nightmare in Kursk Oblast. More than a hundred dead soldiers!

Near the city of Rylsk in Kursk Oblast, a column of our equipment was hit by a MLRS . There is preliminary information about a massive HIMARS attack. The column was moving at night for the purpose of camouflage, our sources say.

Why it was necessary to line up in a column so close to the border and the front line - none of our interlocutors are ready to answer. According to our information, as of 10:00 on Friday, the death of 112 servicemen has been confirmed , at least 80 more are in medical institutions.

Interlocutors with large stars on their shoulder straps are shocked. One of the sources suggested that the reason for such large losses is the haste with the transfer of reserves.

“We have been gathering reserves for a long time, but what idiot gave the order to move in a column - only God knows,” said our interlocutor. We do not agree with this conclusion, because the order to move in a column was given by a specific officer. And he must be punished for the death of our guys!

It is assumed that the column was spotted by an enemy drone, which directed fire. However, the work of enemy special services on our territory is not excluded. One of the interlocutors even hinted that after this strike, the FSB should have more thoroughly checked the residents of neighboring villages. Allegedly, one of the local residents could have passed information about the column’s movement to the enemy.

The reasons for what happened should be looked into in detail so that this does not happen again. Eternal memory to the dead!
