Since boycott announcement, shares in Ben & Jerry’s parent company in unprecedented dive

Unilever has lost 26 billion dollars since announcing its boycott of Judea and Samaria.

Half a year after notifying Avi Singer, the owner of Ben & Jerry’s Israel, of the termination of the company’s contract with him due to his refusal to boycott Judea and Samaria, Unilever shares are in an unprecedented dive.

Within six months, the company’s stock plunged 20.7%, translated into a 26-billion-dollar loss. For comparison, the stock of major competitor Nestle has risen 5% in the last six months.

Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Jewish communities abroad, who are currently waging a wide-ranging struggle against Unilever Global, can claim credit for this achievement.

Through cooperation with 33 U.S. states that enacted anti-boycott laws against Israel, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Jewish communities have managed to trigger the anti-boycott laws against Unilever that led to the withdrawal of investments, holdings and pension funds.

These states include New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Texas, and Arizona.

Upon news of the stock dive Wednesday, Singer said that “this is a tremendous boost to the dogged struggle I am waging these days against Unilever’s unfounded demand not to sell ice-cream in all parts of Israel.”

Singer thanked the citizens of Israel who “continue to support the Israeli plant that employs 169 people in the periphery.”

He called on Israel to impose immediate sanctions on Unilever, which operates without interruption in Israel and receives unprecedented regulatory benefits. “It is not possible that on the one hand, Unilever will boycott Israel, and on the other hand, the IDF will continue to purchase products worth millions of shekels a year from the company,” he said.

Unilever was on the Simon Wiesenthal Center’s “Global Anti-Semitism Top Ten List” for 2021. From the outset, SWC labeled the boycott “a purely political act.”

The boycott was pushed forward by its board chairwoman, Anuradha Mittal, an anti-Israel activist with a track record of endorsing the BDS movement and defending the Hezbollah and Hamas terrorist groups. Mittal was named ‘antisemite of the year’ by watchdog group StopAntisemitism.org.

“Like other anti-Israel boycotts, Arab, as well as Jewish employees living in the Holy Land, will be the ones to suffer the consequences. But Ben & Jerry’s doesn’t care. Their decision to plow profits from its products in order to brand Jews as occupiers in their own land flies in the face of the historic Abraham Accords which has seen Israel and Arab nations embrace peace, mutual respect, and expanding economic relations,” SWC warned.

“Beyond its anti-peace action, Ben & Jerry’s boycott represents a danger to Jews everywhere at a time of surging antisemitism.”

In December, the SWC made its case directly to the Illinois Investment Policy Board to divest from Unilever based on state law and ethics. The Board voted unanimously to put Unilever on the divestment list. Illinois joined other states, with divestments already reaching hundreds of millions of dollars.

First you call B&J’s product “crap” and in the next sentence you tell us you’ve never tasted it?

She did say I should exercise with resistance exercises such as lifting weights. That would help to thicken my bones. And I do. I have dumbbells as light as 2 lb and as heavy as 25 lb. I’m finding it difficult to exercise as often as I should.

And my primary doctor has been pushing me to eat more protein. He wants me to eat 110 g/day of protein. With my decreased appetite I almost never get anywhere near that goal

Try Boost protein drink with 20 grams of protein per 8 ounce serving. A couple of those per day and you're almost halfway to your requirement, and it's easy to belt down. I drink one per day simply because with age I've tended to have a reduced appetite.

I tried it and didn’t like it. Same with Ensure.

But I do have about 10 lb of protein powder. So far I’ve only used in smoothies.

Yes. I have nodules on my thyroid that are benign but once a year they will check again. Doc concluded that my thyroid is functioning fine.

The original Ben and Jerry were and still are openly MARXIST, but RICH ones. There is a difference you know. Just look at the U.S. MARXIST leaders.

My endocrinologist told me I should have 4 servings of dairy per day because I have thinning bones. She said specifically that I should eat ice cream.

Bless your heart. I don't know how you bear it./s :^)

Unilever loves what they’re doing.

Unilever has been in bed with the mullahs for years.

So we haven’t had a Unilever product in this house for years.

And let me assure you, there is life after Unilever.

It's my understanding that Unilever has nothing to do with Ben & Jerry's actions. When Unilever bought B&J, B&J's management reserved autonomy in such matters. Unilever can't legally overrule them.

Garganzola.

Unilever OWNS B&J.

If there is such an agreement {which I'd have to read} Unilever can call a meeting and ax the people that work for them to explain and take responsibility for the 20% stock dive.

Please don't try and sell that crappy line that Unilever "has nothing to do with it".

Not the main reason the stock is down, but that's ok, schadenfreude doesn't require causality.

BJ’s ice cream is crap ice cream loaded with artificial thickeners and other chemicals and always has been ... Isreael is better off without it and that distributor should switch to Häagen-Dazs, one of the very few nationally distributed ice creams that doesn’t add artificial thickeners and other crap to compensate for cheaping out on butterfat content ..

Agree. We buy ice cream only a couple times a year, but when we do we like Walmart’s brand.

“My endocrinologist told me I should have 4 servings of dairy per day because I have thinning bones”

the problem with excess calcium consumption is that there’s no guarantee that it won’t end up in your arteries instead of your bones ... there are some excellent supplements that help with keeping calcium in the bones and out of the tissues, including the MK-7 form of Vitamin K2 ... there’s substantial legitimate research available in pubmed.gov to buttress those claims and some of the smarter doctors are starting to understand this dynamic sufficiently to recommend supplementation with MK-7 ...

“First you call B&J’s product “crap” and in the next sentence you tell us you’ve never tasted it?”

one can tell by reading ingredient labels whether a food product is crap, and who in their right mind would taste food that they know to be crap in the first place?
