The last election for council here in Longmont there were NO conservatives. We have a SoyBoy/Catlady council.

Longmont voted only about 25-30% at most for Trump in 2020, didn’t it? You’d be lucky to find a Republican willing to run for anything there, much less an actual conservative. Then there’s the little matter of somehow winning when the odds seem to be about 3 or 4 to 1 against you (and that’s assuming the votes are counted honestly).
Bravo to anyone willing to try to buck the odds, but it’s not exactly a big mystery why things are the way they are.
