Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott announced on Friday that the construction of the state’s border wall has begun.

“Texas has officially started building its own border wall,” Abbott tweeted.

“Biden allows open border policies and refuses to enforce laws passed by Congress to secure the border and enforce immigration laws,” The governor added. “Texas is stepping up to do the federal government’s job.”

Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin posted pictures of the first panels on Friday.

“Texas has officially started building its own border wall. The first wall panels have gone up in Starr County in the RGV. State land, state money. This particular contractor was building Trump’s wall until Biden cancelled them. Now they build for @GregAbbott_TX,” Melugin tweeted.

"The first wall panels have gone up" Border Wall construction has resumed.

The petty, spiteful Leftists in the Biden Administration refused to sell unused wall panels that were already stacked at the site when construction was halted, so the State of Texas had to buy new steel.

Despite it all, Border Wall Construction has now resumed, with about a billion dollars in this year's Texas budget for new Border Wall.

They could run a temporary barbed wire wall like the one between Libya and Egypt in the 1930s, to stop the current flow of invaders, then go bad and put the main wall up with the barbed wire one for a backup.

No wonder so many companies are fleeing the state of California for Texas:

Others have preceded Gordon Ramsay’s move from California to Texas, including Elon Musk, who has officially moved Tesla’s headquarters from California’s Silicon Valley to a large factory being built outside Austin, Texas. Others making the same move include Toyota Motor North America, McKesson Corporation, Charles Schwab & Company, CBRE (Coldwell Banker Richard Ellis), Core-Mark International, Oracle, and Hewlett-Packard.

According to the Hoover Institute, 74 companies have moved out of California during the first six months of 2021...January 2018 through June 2021, a total of 265 companies left the Golden State, and 114 of them moved to Texas.

Abbott understands fundamentals like protecting borders, the concept of nations, controlling borders, controlling your visitors and immigration laws, the constitution...

"They could run a temporary barbed wire wall"

They did. This is the first of the permanent Trump-style barrier system.

They strung at least 6 miles worth of barbed wire barrier, as well as using shipping containers as a temporary barrier.

This is an invitation for the treacherous usurpers to attempt just that.

This could be the latest version of Concord and Lexington.

If they build it, we will come.

I suspect Biden will shut them down somehow.

They might try but that would be pretty bad optics.

I would tell any attempt by the feds to take a hike, show up on site and try and stop us.

If they are that stupid have the camera crews waiting.

The adds from that would have 65% of the citizen Hispanic population in the border states voting R in the mid-terms.

“I suspect Biden will shut them down somehow.”

No doubt they will try.

The Feds can sit on some of the prime, highest priority land that needs to be walled off, to keep big gaps open.

But the State of Texas can make progress in walling off a lot of priority segments (like State land, and that of willing private landowners), corralling the illegal traffic through smaller gaps, where law Enforcement can focus.

This is permanent barrier system, so every mile they do, will be one less that the next Trump Administration will have to do.

Clinton/Bush/Obama judge in 3..2..1.

Imagine they'll eventually find SOME kinda nonsense to try to gum that up with. Destroying the habitat of the yellow-bellied tickle giggler or something.

Fortunately, TX does have a pretty good legal team with a lot of tricks up their sleeves. They've stripped the gears of the abortion bunch pretty well so far.

They are petty, but maybe they can be used when the Republicans take over Congress and the Presidency.

Does this mean that all Americans must build a wall around their homes to protect themselves against invaders? What happened to the 2nd Amnt? Is a wall the only way to assure our safety?
